Okay, so the other day I was watching some wrestling with my buddies, and it got me thinking – how much do these WWE wrestlers actually make? I mean, they’re putting their bodies on the line every night, right? So, I decided to do a little digging.
First, I hit up Google. Just typed in “how much do WWE wrestlers get paid” and boom, tons of articles popped up. I started clicking through them, trying to get a general idea.
- I skimmed a few articles, and it seems like there’s a pretty wide range. Some sources said that the starting salary for a WWE wrestler is around $250,000 a year, while others claimed it can go up to a whopping $10 million for the big stars.
- Then I found another article specifically about the average annual pay. It said that as of January 2, 2025, the average is around $125,952 a year in the United States. Not bad, right? That breaks down to about $60.55 an hour, or $2,422 a week.
- Then there was more to the situation. I stumbled upon an example about an announcer, Samantha. The average salary for a WWE announcer is apparently $180,000, but Samantha makes way more. It said she gets $10,000 for announcing regular matches and $20,000 for pay-per-view events. She must be good!
But then I found something that seemed a little off. One article mentioned that the minimum salary on the main roster is $350. Not $350,000, just $350. That can’t be right, can it? It didn’t add up with the other numbers I was seeing.
After spending a good chunk of time reading, I realized it’s not so simple. There are different levels of contracts, bonuses, and who knows what else. It seems like the top guys, like Brock Lesnar, are making bank, but the newer or less popular wrestlers might be making way less. I’m guessing the $350 figure might be some kind of base pay per appearance or something like that. It’s still a bit of a mystery, but hey, it was fun to learn a bit more about the business side of WWE!
