So, I’ve been grinding away at Tekken 8 lately, and with this new 1.04 patch, I figured it’s time to talk about where everyone stands in the tier list.
First off, I started playing with a bunch of different characters, trying to get a feel for who felt strong and who felt a little weak. You know, the usual process. I played a ton of matches, experimented with different combos, and tried to figure out each character’s strengths and weaknesses. Man, it was a lot of trial and error. Lots of getting my butt kicked, too.
After all that, I started noticing some patterns. It’s pretty clear that some characters are just beasts right now. Alisa, Azucena, Feng, Jun, and Dragunov? These guys are absolute monsters. I mean, they have some seriously good moves and can really dominate a match. I found myself winning way more often when I picked these characters. They just felt really strong compared to others.
- Alisa – She is hard to use. But I practiced a lot and started using her in online matches. I won a lot with her.
- Azucena – Same here. A lot of people use her online. I tried to figure out how to beat her. It was tough! But I eventually got good at fighting against her.
- Feng – One of the best for sure. I played a bunch of matches with him and won most of them. He has great moves for attacking and defending.
- Jun – Super strong right now. Many players are talking about her. I think she might even be too good!
- Dragunov – He is still really strong after the patch. I use him when I want to win. He has powerful throws and combos.
Now, I saw some folks online saying Feng and Xiaoyu are like, the top two. I’m not entirely sure about Xiaoyu, but Feng definitely feels like he’s up there. He is just too good. King, Jun, and Jin are also pretty high up on my list. These three are solid choices if you want a good chance at winning.
But here’s the thing – the game has a lot of characters, and it’s hard to say for sure who’s the absolute best. There is also that Leroy is being used a lot, but I am not so sure about him.
I also heard that Bryan, Steve, Kazuya, Devil Jin, and Reina are supposed to be super hard to use. I tried them out, and yeah, they’re pretty complex. Kazuya being tough is kinda funny, right? ‘Cause newbies might think he’s a good starting point, but nope. He’s got a high skill ceiling. Devil Jin and Reina, too, man. They require some serious dedication to master.
My final thoughts?
This patch has definitely mixed things up. Some characters got stronger, others got weaker. It’s gonna be interesting to see how the meta develops. It took me a while, but after all that playing and experimenting, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of the current state of things. Keep practicing, keep experimenting, and find those characters that work for you. That’s the most important thing. Good luck out there, folks!
