Okay, so, let’s talk about how to sprint in MLB The Show 23. I spent a good chunk of my day trying to figure this out, and let me tell you, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be.
First, I booted up the game. You know, the usual – turned on my console, selected the game, and waited for it to load. Once I was in, I started a new game. I picked my favorite team, because, why not? Then I thought, “Alright, let’s see how sprinting works in this version.”
I started messing around with the controls. Pressed a few buttons, moved the joystick around, nothing seemed to make my player sprint. I was just running at the normal speed. I even tried holding down different buttons at the same time, hoping that would do the trick. Still nothing. I gotta say, it was pretty frustrating.
Then, I thought, maybe it’s in the settings? So, I paused the game and went into the options menu. I scrolled through all the different settings – gameplay, audio, video, you name it. I was looking for anything that said “sprint” or “run faster” or something like that.
- Checked the gameplay settings.
- Looked at the controller settings.
- Even went into the advanced settings.
I spent a good amount of time in those menus, I’m not gonna lie. It felt like I was going in circles. I started to feel a little silly, honestly. Like, “Dude, it’s just sprinting, how hard can it be?”
Finally Get it
After what felt like forever, I finally figured it out. Turns out, you have to press and hold the R2 button to make your player sprint. It was such a simple thing, but the game doesn’t really tell you that anywhere. Or, at least, I didn’t see it. Maybe I missed it.
Anyway, once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. My players were sprinting around the bases like they should be. It felt good to finally get it. I played a few more games, testing out the sprinting, making sure I had it down.
So yeah, that’s my story of how I learned to sprint in MLB The Show 23. It was a bit of a journey, but hey, I got there in the end. Hopefully, this helps someone else out there who’s struggling with the same thing.
