Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with Starfield lately, and let me tell you, building outposts is a whole thing. You need tons of resources, and keeping track of it all is a real pain. That’s when I decided to make things a little easier for myself.
I’m not a coding whiz or anything, but I’m pretty decent with spreadsheets. So I thought, why not just whip up a simple calculator in Google Sheets? It took me a bit of time, but eventually, I got something working.
- First, I listed out all the outpost stuff you can build. You know, like extractors, storage containers, power generators, all that jazz.
- Then, I figured out how much of each resource you need to build each of those things. This was a bit of a grind, ngl. I had to jump in and out of the game, checking the requirements and jotting them down.
- After that, I set up the sheet so you can just pick what you want to build from a dropdown list. And then, you just punch in how many of each thing you want.
Once you do that, the sheet just does its magic and spits out the total amount of each resource you’ll need. It’s pretty basic, but it gets the job done.
The Hard Part
Honestly, the trickiest part was just getting all the data into the sheet. It was a lot of back and forth, but hey, it works. But it turns out, it does work! I spent days playing the game, collecting the data.
Making it look decent
I did a bit of formatting to make it look less like a total mess. You know, added some colors, bolded some text. I even added some images of resources and buildings in it. Nothing too fancy, but it’s easy on the eyes.
Anyway, It’s not perfect, but it’s made my Starfield life a bit easier. I know the amount of resources before I start to build outposts. If any of you are struggling with the same thing, you can totally copy my idea and make your own calculator. It’s a lifesaver!
