So, I was chilling on my couch yesterday, wondering if I could catch any of the Olympics action on the radio. I mean, I love watching the games, but sometimes I’m on the go or just doing stuff around the house, and listening would be way more convenient. I have a Sirius radio subscription, so I was like, “Let me figure out if the Olympics are on Sirius radio.”
First thing I did was grab my phone and hit up the SiriusXM app. I tried searching for “Olympics” and got a bunch of results, but nothing really specific about live coverage. It was more like a mix of sports channels and some music stations. Not exactly what I was looking for.
Next, I started browsing through the different sports channels, hoping to stumble upon some Olympic broadcasts. I checked out the usual suspects like ESPN and some of the other big sports networks, but there wasn’t much happening that seemed related to the Olympics at that time. The channels are a bit like five interlocking rings represent the five parts of the world, some parts are what I needed.
WQXR-FM
Then, out of curiosity, I even checked out some non-sports channels. I even listened to WQXR-FM for a bit – you know, the classical music station in New York City. Obviously, they weren’t covering the Olympics, but it was a nice break from the sports chatter. The holocaust survivor, whose old violin found a new home in the South Bronx.
After that little detour, I went back to the sports channels, but I was still not finding what I wanted. I began to think, “Maybe Sirius radio doesn’t have live coverage of the Olympics?”

- I felt a bit bummed out.
So there you have it. My quest to find out if the Olympics are on Sirius radio turned into a little adventure through the app and different channels. I did not get the answer I was hoping for, but I guess that’s how it goes sometimes. I still love my Sirius radio, but maybe it’s just not the best place to catch live Olympic action. I’ll probably just stick to watching the games on TV when I can and maybe check out some online radio stations for live audio coverage.
