Alright, guys, let’s talk about my recent experiments with TH12 attack strategies. I’ve been trying out a bunch of different army comps and I wanted to share what worked, what didn’t, and what was just plain frustrating.

My Initial Go-To (and Why it Failed)
I started out, like I think a lot of people do, relying heavily on Electro Dragons. I mean, who doesn’t love those chain lightning beasts? My usual setup was something like this:
- 8 Electro Dragons
- 8 Balloons
- 4 Healers (for a Queen Walk)
- A few Wall Breakers and some cleanup troops
- Spells: Mostly Rage and Freeze
I thought this was foolproof. I’d start with a Queen Walk to take out some key defenses, then unleash the E-Drags and Balloons, raging them up as they went. It worked… sometimes. Against weaker bases, sure, it was a guaranteed three-star. But against well-designed TH12s? Forget about it. I kept running into these problems:
- The Queen would get overwhelmed by multiple defenses.
- Air Sweepers would totally mess up my E-Drag pathing.
- Single-target Infernos would melt my E-Drags before they could do any real damage.
- Hidden Teslas would pop up and surprise my Balloons.
So, back to the drawing board.
Experimenting with Ground Attacks
I figured I needed to try something totally different. I switched to ground attacks, focusing on Hog Riders and Miners. My first attempt was a hybrid attack:
- Queen Charge, start the Queen Charge in one area.
- Try and funnel her into the base.
- Use hog rider and Miners with heal spells.
- Throw in some Wizards for extra damage.
I’ll be honest, it was a disaster. The Queen charge was inconsistent, and my Hogs and Miners just got shredded. I was spending way too much time trying to get the perfect funnel, and it just wasn’t working reliably.
What I tried next.
I tried to use the GoWiPe, and it did work for a little while, but it was not what I was looking for in the long run.
So I switched to the Yeti Smash attack strategy.

-
I started to drop all the Yetis in one place.
-
Used some Wizards for clean up.
-
Try and funnel the Yetis into the base.
-
Use rage spells to get a good push.
The “Aha!” Moment (Maybe?)
Then I had an idea, that there’s a more simple way that I didn’t try, The DragBat strategy, I’ve seen some people crush bases with it, so I figured I’d give it a shot. Here’s what I’m currently using:
- 10 Dragons
- 6-8 Balloons
- 5 Bat spells
- A few cleanup troops
- Spells: Rage, Freeze, and those all-important Bats
The key is to use the Dragons and Balloons to create a path and take out some air defenses, then send in the Bats on the back end. The Freeze spells are crucial for dealing with Wizard Towers and multi-target Infernos, which can absolutely wreck your Bats.
I’m still learning the nuances of this strategy, but I’ve had way more success with it than anything else. I’ve managed to three-star some pretty tough bases, and it feels much more consistent than my old E-Drag spam. It has its own set of problems, but for now I am doing pretty well with this strategy.

So, that’s where I’m at. Still learning, still experimenting. What TH12 attack strategies have you guys been using? Let me know in the comments – I’m always looking for new ideas!
