Okay, so I saw this “director johnson nyt crossword” thing trending and, like, I had to try it. I’m not a huge crossword person, but the “NYT” part got me. I mean, that’s the big leagues, right?
First, I had to find it. That was way easier than I expected. I just Googled it, I found the puzzle. Thank goodness, because I wouldn’t know how to do anything manually.
I started by, you know, just staring at it. It was pretty intimidating. All those blank squares! But then I saw some of the shorter clues and I got a few easy ones. Boom! Feeling good.
- I got a couple of the short ones.
- Then there were the down clues…
The across clues, those were okay. But the down clues! Some of them, I swear, I’ve never even heard of the words before. Like, seriously, who uses those words in real life?
I kept plugging away, though. I used, um, “help”. What I mean is, that I googled some answers, don’t judge me. The internet is my friend, okay?
It took me a surprisingly long time, I’m not going to lie. My brain was definitely getting a workout. I won’t tell the exact time I spent, it is a little shaming. But, slowly but surely, I started filling in more and more of the grid.
The Victory Lap (Sort Of)
I finally finished! Well, mostly finished. There were like two or three answers I just couldn’t get, even with all the “help” I could find. But you know what? I’m still calling it a win. I got, like, 98% of a New York Times crossword puzzle done! Me! That’s something, right?
My takeaway? Crosswords are harder than they look. But they’re also kind of satisfying. Maybe I’ll try another one… sometime. When I’ve recovered from this one.
