Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little adventure with Austin Reaves’ “Milky Way” shoes.

It all started with me scrolling through Instagram, you know, as you do. And BAM! There’s this picture of these crazy-cool looking shoes, all swirly and galaxy-like. I’m a sucker for anything that looks like it came from outer space, so I was immediately hooked. Turns out, they’re Austin Reaves’ signature shoes, the “Milky Way” edition.
The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed to find these shoes. So I hit up Google, typing in “Austin Reaves shoes Milky Way” like a madman. I found a few, pictures, a few videos. A couple of stores had them, but they were all out of my size! I found out that the shoes are made by Rigorer, I never heard about them, but now I know.
The Sizing Struggle
I looked around on some forums, read a bunch of stuff that people had on their feet, that they have been balling in them. People were saying all sorts of things, like “go half a size up,” “they’re true to size,” “go a full size down” – it was a mess! I usually wear a size 10, so I was totally lost. I decided to try my luck with the 10. I mean, that’s my usual size, right?
The Purchase
The shoes finally show up, and I’m buzzing with excitement. I rip open the box, and there they are – the “Milky Way” shoes in all their glory. They look even better in person than they did online. The colors are vibrant, the design is wild, and I’m already imagining myself wearing them everywhere, not on the court, just for style!
Trying Them On
I slip them on, and… they’re a little snug. Not uncomfortably tight, but definitely snugger than my other shoes. My toes are kinda close to the front. I walk around the house, do a few little jumps, and they feel okay, but I’m starting to think maybe I should’ve gone half a size up, like some people mentioned.
The Verdict (For Now)
So, here’s where I’m at: I love the look of these shoes. They’re seriously cool, and I’m stoked to have them. The fit is a bit of a question mark, though. I’m going to wear them around the house a bit more, maybe try them with different socks, and see how they feel after a few days. I’m hoping they’ll break in a little and become more comfortable. If not, I might have to try and exchange them for a 10.5, which is a bummer, but hey, that’s the life of a shoe enthusiast, right?
Update to come soon!
