Well, I reckon a lot o’ folks might not know much ’bout Ann-Lorraine “Lorrie” Carlsen Nantz, but she sure was an important part of Jim Nantz’s life for many years. You see, Jim Nantz, he’s that big-time sportscaster over at CBS, always talkin’ ’bout football and golf, and all them sports folks love to watch. But before all that fame, Jim had himself a wife, and her name was Ann-Lorraine Carlsen Nantz. They was married for a long, long time, ’bout 26 years, which is a mighty long spell if you ask me. But, like many things in life, it didn’t last forever. They ended up partin’ ways in 2009, after all them years together.
Now, Lorrie, as folks might call her, was right there by Jim’s side, from when he was just a young man climbin’ up the ladder at CBS. They lived together in Westport, Connecticut, all them years, and I reckon it was a real nice place, though I ain’t ever been myself. They had one child together, a son, and he musta been the light of their life, I imagine. But, as life goes sometimes, things just didn’t work out between them, and they went their separate ways.
It’s funny how folks like Jim Nantz, who’s out there on TV all the time, talkin’ sports, have their personal lives play out like any other. His marriage to Lorrie wasn’t always smooth sailin’. While his career was shootin’ up, his marriage was, well, not so much. But, ain’t that the way it goes sometimes? Life don’t always turn out how we expect, even for the ones on TV.
But I guess the good Lord’s got his way of workin’ things out. After his divorce from Lorrie, Jim went on to marry again, this time to a lady named Courtney Richards. From what I hear, Jim and Courtney are happy together, and that’s what really matters, ain’t it? Everybody deserves a second chance at happiness, I always say.
Now, as for Lorrie, she don’t seem to be much in the public eye no more. I reckon she’s been livin’ her life out of the spotlight. Ain’t no need for folks to be diggin’ into her business all the time, especially after all she went through. Life moves on, and folks get to live how they want, and that’s what matters most. She had her time with Jim, and that’s somethin’ to be proud of, too, even if it didn’t last forever.
Folks might not talk ’bout her much, but Lorrie was part of Jim’s life, and that counts for somethin’. It’s a shame when a marriage don’t work out, but life’s like that sometimes. Ain’t no shame in it, just the way the world spins. Both Jim and Lorrie had their own journeys to take, and that’s somethin’ that happens to a lot of folks. The important thing is, they both found their way to where they needed to be, one way or another.
So, while you might hear more ’bout Jim Nantz on the TV, don’t forget Lorrie, his first wife. She might not be out there in the public eye, but she was a big part of his story for a long time. And sometimes, that’s the best kind of story—one that’s lived quietly and full of meaning.
