Okay, so today I messed around with a 2010 Gator. I wasn’t even planning on it, but here we are. It all started this morning…

I woke up, had my usual coffee, and was scrolling through some local online listings. You know, just seeing what’s out there. And bam! There it was – a 2010 Gator, listed for a surprisingly decent price. The pictures weren’t great, but something about it just grabbed my attention.
I messaged the seller, figuring it was probably a long shot. But they got back to me pretty quick, and before I knew it, I was driving over to take a look.
First Impressions
When I got there, the Gator was definitely showing its age. Some rust spots, faded paint, the usual stuff for a machine that’s been used. But the frame looked solid, and the engine turned over right away, which was a good sign.
We took a spin,I listened to the engine and payed attention to any abnormal noices.
- The tires were pretty worn, but that’s an easy fix.
- The seat had a couple of rips, nothing some duct tape couldn’t handle for now.
- The bed was a bit dented, but still functional.
Honestly, it was rougher than I expected, but I kinda liked that. It had character! Plus, the seller was willing to negotiate on the price, seeing as how it needed some work.
Making it Happen
After a bit of back-and-forth, we settled on a price that I felt pretty good about. I handed over the cash, hooked up the trailer, and hauled that old Gator back to my place.
The rest of the day was spent just tinkering. I checked all the fluids, cleaned out the air filter, and sprayed down the whole thing with a pressure washer. Just getting all the years of grime off made a huge difference.
I ordered some new tires online, and I’ll probably pick up a seat cover soon. The rust is going to take some more work, but I’m thinking I might just sand it down and give it a fresh coat of paint. Make it look a little less… well, ancient.

What’s Next?
This is definitely going to be a project. It’s not going to be perfect, but that’s not really the point. I’m looking forward to getting my hands dirty and bringing this old Gator back to life. I’ll keep you guys posted on the progress!
