Okay, so I’ve been digging into Patrick Cantlay’s gear lately, trying to figure out what makes this guy tick on the course. I mean, the dude’s consistent as hell, so I figured there might be something to learn from his setup. I started by watching a bunch of his tournament rounds, just paying close attention to his shots and what clubs he was pulling.

Then I went down the rabbit hole of online forums and golf websites. I spent hours just scrolling, looking for any info I could find about his clubs, his shafts, everything. It was kind of a mess, to be honest, a lot of conflicting information and outdated stuff.
I started to compile my own notes. I made a simple list, basically just writing down everything I could confirm. It was slow going, but I started to get a clearer picture.
What I Found
- Driver: I kept seeing him crush these drives, and I finally nailed it down. Seems like he’s been playing that Titleist for a while.
- Fairway Woods: I noticed he’s not afraid to go for it on those long par 5s, and I saw him switching between different woods and I find it.
- Irons: This was a big one for me, because I’ve been struggling with my own iron play lately. I watched a ton of footage of his approach shots, trying to see what he was using. Everyone say that he love those old irons.
- Wedges: I saw him hit some crazy flop shots and get out of trouble around the greens, So I had to know what wedges he had in the bag.
- Putter: The putter, Always a classic.
- Ball: Obvious,Titleist Pro V1x.
Putting all this together took some serious time, It wasn’t like I could just find it all in one place. But it was worth it. Now I have a much better understanding of his setup, and I can actually start thinking about how it might apply to my own game.
Now, I’m not saying I’m going to go out and buy all the same stuff. But I’m definitely going to experiment with some of the things I learned. Maybe try a different shaft in my driver, or play around with the lofts on my wedges. It’s all about finding what works for you, right? This whole process has been a good reminder that there’s always something new to learn in this game.
