Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about this “Gale Lewis Zone Wars” thing in Fortnite, and I figured I’d give it a shot. I’m not the best player, but I like a good challenge, and zone wars seemed like a fun way to practice my building and close-quarters combat.

First things first, I had to find the darn thing. I jumped into Creative mode and started poking around. I eventually found the island code by searching online– it wasn’t super obvious in the game itself, I gotta say. Input the code, and boom, I’m in the lobby.
The lobby itself was pretty cool. It had this futuristic, almost space-station vibe. I spent a few minutes just running around, checking out the scenery and getting a feel for the layout. There were a bunch of other players there too, all geared up and ready to go. Some were practicing their builds, others were just emoting – you know, the usual Fortnite shenanigans.
Once the game started, it was chaos. Pure, unadulterated chaos. I spawned in with a random loadout – sometimes it was decent, other times… not so much. The first few rounds, I got absolutely destroyed. I mean, players were building like maniacs, editing like their lives depended on it, and landing shots I could only dream of. I felt like a total noob.
But I’m stubborn, so I kept at it. I started paying more attention to how other players were moving, how they were building, and when they were choosing to engage. Slowly, very slowly, I started to get the hang of it.
- I learned to prioritize getting to the high ground, even if it meant using a few extra materials.
- I practiced my box fighting, trying to stay one step ahead of my opponents.
- I focused on my edits, trying to make them smoother and faster.
- I even try to peek-shot.
It wasn’t pretty, and I still got eliminated a lot, but I started to see some improvement. I even managed to snag a few eliminations myself! It felt good to finally start holding my own, even if it was just for a few seconds.
After a couple of hours, I was exhausted, but it had a fun time. I definitely wasn’t a Zone Wars master, but I felt like I had learned a lot. It’s a great way to practice those high-pressure situations and improve your building and editing skills.
I still die a lot, but at least I die with a plan.

My advice for anyone looking to do this:
- Don’t be afraid to die.
- watch and learn.
- Don’t be afraid to experiment.
- Most importantly, have fun.
