Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little project today: figuring out the Pelicans’ depth chart. It wasn’t exactly rocket science, but it took a bit of digging.

First, I started with the obvious – I just wanted a quick look, so, what a surprise, I failed. Nothing I wanted was out there.
Then, I thought, “Okay, let’s get a little smarter.” I started to do some research by myself.
I opened up a new note file on my desktop. Simple, right? Just wanted a place to dump my findings.
Next, I started to find the team’s offical roster from news. I spent maybe 20 minutes on this, cross-referencing a few different sources to make sure I had everyone and their listed positions right.
- Point Guards:This one’s kinda tricky.
- Shooting Guards:.
- Small Forwards:.
- Power Forwards:.
- Centers:.
After I got the list, I began to organize my notes, basically slotting guys into their primary and, if applicable, secondary positions. I’d put someone down as a PG/SG if they really split time between the two. The tricky part was thinking about how the coach actually uses these guys, not just what some website says their position is.
Finally, I had something that looked pretty close to a real depth *’s not perfect, and things will definitely change during the season, but it’s a good starting point.I think it is useful for me!
