Okay, so I was feeling kinda blah today. You know, one of those days where everything just feels…meh. I figured I needed a little pick-me-up, and I remembered the NYT Mini Crossword. I’m not usually a crossword person, but the Mini is, well, mini! So, I thought, “Why not?”

Getting Started
First things first, I opened up the NYT Games page. The Mini was right there, staring back at me. I took a deep breath and clicked on it.
The Struggle (and the Fun!)
At first, some of the clues were easy peasy. Like, “Opposite of black” (WHITE, duh!). But then…things got a little trickier. There were some words I’d never even heard of!
I started by filling in the ones I knew for sure. That gave me a few letters to work with for the harder clues. I used the across and down clues together, like a little puzzle within a puzzle.
- I got stuck on one clue for like, five minutes! I kept trying different things, but nothing seemed to fit.
- Finally, I had a “lightbulb” moment and figured it out! It was such a good feeling.
Victory!
Slowly but surely, I filled in all the little squares. And then…BAM! The “You finished!” message popped up. I actually did it! I finished the Mini Crossword!
Honestly, it was a surprisingly good way to cheer myself up. It gave my brain something to focus on, and that feeling of accomplishment? Totally worth it. It wasn’t a huge thing, but it made my day a little bit brighter. I will play it again tomorrow!
