Alright, folks, let’s talk about Conor McGregor’s beer, Forged Irish Stout. I’ve seen it all over the internet, and, well, I got curious. So I decided to do a little taste test myself.

The Hunt
First things first, I had to find the stuff. I checked a couple of local liquor stores, nothing. Then, I hit up a bigger store, one of those giant ones, still no luck. I was about to give up, honestly. But I really wanted to see if it tasted as strong as he talks, and the internet makes it out to be. So, I went to one last place. They didn’t have it out on the shelves, but I asked one of the guys working there, and bingo! He went in the back and brought out a four-pack. Finally!
The First Impression
Okay, so I got it home, and the packaging is pretty slick, I’ll give them that. All black and gold, looks fancy. I popped one open, and it poured a really dark color, like you’d expect from a stout. Nice, thick head on it too.
The Taste Test
Now for the important part. I took a big swig, and… it’s pretty good! It’s definitely got that roasted, malty flavor you want in a stout. Not too bitter, surprisingly smooth. It’s got a bit of a coffee, chocolate thing going on, which I like. I was expecting it to be, I don’t know, super aggressive or something, given McGregor’s personality, but it’s actually pretty balanced.
- Appearance: Dark, almost black, with a creamy tan head.
- Smell: Roasted malts, coffee, a hint of chocolate.
- Taste: Smooth, malty, with notes of coffee and chocolate. Not overly bitter.
- Mouthfeel: Creamy, full-bodied.
The Verdict
Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a solid stout. Would I drink it all the time? Maybe not, I’m more of a pale ale kind of guy. But if you’re into stouts, this one is definitely worth a try. I finished the entire can, and I didn’t hate it. Thumbs up from me. I even grabbed another pack for the fignt night I have coming up.
