Okay, so I saw this “khabib bathtub” thing floating around and got curious. I mean, the guy’s a legend, so I figured, why not try to replicate his supposed training routine, at least the bathtub part?

Getting Started
First, I filled my regular bathtub with the coldest water I could manage. No fancy ice bath setup here, just straight-up cold tap water. I live in an area that in winter can get pretty cold so tap water can feel close to ice. It was brutal, I’m not gonna lie. I stepped in, and instantly, every cell in my body was screaming.
The “Workout”
- Sitting and Shivering:
The initial plan was to just sit there. I mean, that’s what I figured “cold exposure” meant. Sit and endure. I lasted, like, two minutes before I was shaking uncontrollably.
- Moving Around:
I figured maybe some movement would help. I started doing these awkward, slow-motion punches and leg lifts, just trying to generate some heat. It felt ridiculous, and I’m pretty sure I looked ridiculous, too.
- Short Bursts:
I decided to go for short intervals. In for 30 seconds, out for 30 seconds, repeat. This was slightly more manageable, but still incredibly unpleasant.
My Takeaway
Honestly, I don’t know how Khabib does it, or if he even does it this way regularly. I’m sure his setup is probably more sophisticated, maybe with actual ice and a controlled environment. My little experiment? It was a one-time thing. My body felt…shocked, mostly. Maybe there’s a long-term benefit, but I’m not dedicated enough to find out. I’m sticking to my regular, warm showers from now on.
I give full respect to anyone who can handle that level of cold regularly. You’re a different breed. I’m just a regular dude who tried something weird and lived to tell the tale.
