My Afternoon Following Shelton vs Shang
Okay, so I decided to track the Shelton versus Shang match today. Didn’t get to watch it live from the start, had some stuff to do in the morning.

First, I just checked the scores online. Pulled up my usual sports app on the phone. Saw Shelton took the first set. Not too surprising, maybe? He’s got that big serve, lots of power.
Then I managed to catch some highlights later. Found a few clips online. Wow, Shelton’s forehand was really firing. He was just blasting winners from the baseline. Looked like he was really feeling it.
Shang, though, he was hanging tough. I saw some points where he was really making Shelton work, moving him around the court. He’s got quick feet, that’s for sure. Didn’t seem intimidated by the power coming at him.
- Tried to find a good stream, but connection was spotty.
- Ended up mostly following the live text commentary.
- Kept refreshing the score updates.
The second set seemed closer, based on the score progression I was following. Looked like Shang had some chances, maybe a break point here or there? But Shelton’s serve is just such a weapon. Gets him out of trouble a lot.
Saw the final score pop up eventually. Shelton got it done in straight sets. A pretty solid performance from him, it seems.
Final Thoughts
Overall, it went about how I expected, maybe? Shelton’s power game was just a bit too much today. But Shang definitely showed promise. He battled hard. It’s good to see him competing at this level. He moved well and didn’t back down.
For Shelton, it’s another win. He just needs to keep that consistency. When his game is on, especially that serve and forehand, he’s tough for anyone to beat.
So yeah, spent a good chunk of the afternoon keeping tabs on this one. Always interesting to see these matchups. Just wish I could’ve watched the whole thing without interruptions.
