Now, I don’t know much about them big boxing matches, but I do know folks talk a lot about this Dmitry Bivol fella and Oleksandr Usyk. Some say they’ve crossed paths before, but not in the pros, mind you. We’re talkin’ about the amateurs here. Now, if you ask me, it’s all a bit too fancy, but I’ll tell ya what I’ve heard and seen.
First off, let me tell you, Bivol and Usyk didn’t exactly fight in the same weight classes or anything like that. Usyk, he’s a heavyweight now, right? Big ol’ fella, up in them higher ranks, and Bivol, well, he’s down in the light-heavyweight division. They ain’t really been in the same ring together when it comes to the pros, but the talk is they both fought some of the same people in the amateurs, back when they were just starting out, real young like.
Now, there’s a lot of talk about them amateur fights, and let me tell you, a lot of folks claim Usyk and Bivol did battle in them rings before. Not sure exactly when, but it’s been said. Some say Usyk had the upper hand back then, but that’s all just stories you hear from folk who know folk who know folk. Ain’t no clear answer to it. If you dig deep enough, maybe you find something, but I reckon these fellas both been around the block long enough now, they’ve got their own paths in the pro world, and they’ve gone their separate ways.
Now, Dmitry Bivol, he’s been making quite the name for himself. Ain’t lost a single fight in all them years, and that’s sayin’ somethin’. His boxing style, well, it’s clean and sharp. He don’t like to get hit much, and he moves quick, a real slippery one in the ring. Folks say he’s got the kind of style that’s hard to crack, but don’t let that fool ya. He’s also got power in them punches, even if he don’t go all out with them. It’s like he’s just waiting for the right moment to strike.
On the other hand, Usyk, he’s a whole different story. The man’s big, tall, and strong as an ox, but what folks love most about him is that he’s a thinker in the ring. Ain’t just muscle and might, he’s got that strategy too. Some say he’s more technical than most, and that’s what makes him such a tough cookie to crack. He’s got all them belts now, after that win over Anthony Joshua, and folks can’t stop talking about how great he is.
Now, whether they fought each other in them amateur days, that’s still a question on the lips of many a boxing fan. Some say it happened, others say it didn’t. One thing’s for sure though, them boys been on the same path for a while now, just in different ways. If they ever did get in the same ring together as pros, that sure would be a sight to see. But right now, it looks like they’re just waiting for the right time, both of ’em focused on their own careers.
Here’s the thing though, both Bivol and Usyk got their own fans and all that, but they’re still not at the same weight class. So, if they did fight, it’d probably have to be in a catchweight match, somewhere between their divisions. But I reckon that might not be happening anytime soon, especially with all them other big fights going on. Usyk’s busy with his heavyweight business, and Bivol’s still doing his thing in the light heavyweight ranks.
So, in the end, while they might’ve crossed paths in the amateurs, I’m not sure they’ll meet again in the pros unless something real special happens. But it’s fun to dream about, right? Two big names, both with different styles, meeting up in that ring for a fight that could shake the whole boxing world.
In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Both these men are still young in the game, with plenty of time to show what they’re made of. Whether or not they ever meet again, one thing’s for sure, it’ll be a fight to remember. And that’s all we can really hope for when it comes to boxing.
So, what do you think? Could Usyk and Bivol ever meet in the ring again? Or was it just a thing of the past, better left behind in the amateur days?
