Alright, let’s talk about this Petco Park, section 325, you know? I ain’t never been there myself, but my grandson, he went and told me all about it. Said it was somethin’ else.
First off, he said if you’re goin’ to a day game, you better watch out for that sun. That San Diego sun, it ain’t no joke. It gets hotter than a pot of boilin’ water, he says. Best place to sit, he told me, is up on the 200 level, especially if you can get behind home plate, you know, sections 201 to 210. Said they got shade up there, keeps you from fryin’ like an egg.
Now, if you’re down closer to the field, like in the 100s, you gotta be careful. The sun beats down somethin’ fierce. My grandson said the back rows of sections 107 to 110, they got some cover overhead. That’s a good spot if you wanna be close but not get cooked.
He also told me about gettin’ in. Said it depends on where your seats are. If you’re sittin’ out in right field, that’s the odd numbered sections, you wanna go in through the East Village Gate or the Park Blvd Gate. Makes sense, I guess. If you’re on the third base side, you go in by the Gaslamp Gate, near that Omni Hotel. And if you’re behind home plate or on the first base side, the Home Plate Gate is where you wanna be. Sounds complicated, but I guess once you been there once, you figure it out.
And if someone’s droppin’ you off or pickin’ you up, there’s spots on both sides of the park. West side, you use 6th Avenue and K Street. East side… well, he didn’t say exactly where, just that there’s spots on the east side too. Guess you gotta look around.
- Shady Spots: 200 level (sections 201-210), back rows of 107-110.
- Right Field Entrance: East Village Gate or Park Blvd Gate.
- Third Base Side Entrance: Gaslamp Gate.
- Home Plate/First Base Side Entrance: Home Plate Gate.
- Drop-off/Pick-up: West side (6th Ave and K St) and East side.
Now, about them tickets, he said you can get ‘em online. Said somethin’ about resale tickets and seat maps. Didn’t really understand all that fancy talk, but it sounds like you can find tickets pretty easy if you know where to look. He mentioned somethin’ about gettin’ ’em cheaper too, up to 10% off, but I dunno how that works. Just sounded like a good deal to me.
He also said you can see the schedule and buy tickets all in one place. Said there’s a big inventory, whatever that means. Guess they got a lot of tickets to sell. And you can look at the seat map, so you know where you’re gonna be sittin’. That’s important, I guess, so you don’t end up right in the sun.
So, that’s about all I know about Petco Park, section 325. Never been there myself, but my grandson, he knows his stuff. Said it’s a good place to watch a game, long as you stay outta the sun and know where to go. And if you can get a discount on them tickets, well, that’s just the icing on the cake, ain’t it?
Anyways, if you’re going, I hope you have a good time. Just remember what I told ya, and you’ll be alright. Don’t forget your sunscreen, and maybe a hat too. That sun can be a real scorcher.
