Alright, let’s talk about this fight, you know, the one with Canelo and that Munguia fella. Everybody’s yappin’ about how much money they made, so let’s get down to it, but don’t expect no fancy book learnin’ words from me, I just tell it like it is.
Canelo’s Pockets Full, That’s For Sure
Now, Canelo, that boy made a whole heap of money. I heard tell he got somewhere between 30 and 35 million dollars just for showin’ up! Can you believe that? 35 million dollars! That’s more money than I ever seen in my whole life, and I seen a lot of sunrises, let me tell ya. And that ain’t even countin’ all the extra cash he got from them commercials and folks payin’ to watch it on TV. Shoot, they say he got 40 million when he fought that Plant fella a while back. This time, they say it’s 35 million, but who knows for sure? Them rich folks, they don’t like to tell you everything.
- Guaranteed money: around $30-35 million
- Possible extra money from ads and pay-per-view
- He got even more, like 40 million, in an old fight!
Munguia’s Money, Not Too Shabby But Not Canelo Money
Now, Munguia, that young fella, he didn’t get as much as Canelo, but he still did alright, I reckon. It’s kinda hard to say exactly how much, ’cause nobody’s shoutin’ it from the rooftops. They say it’s a “mystery,” like it’s some big secret or somethin’. But from what I hear, it ain’t no mystery, they just don’t wanna tell us common folk.
I heard he got somethin’ like 2 million when he fought that Kelly boy a while back, and then maybe 800,000 guaranteed when he fought Ryder. But this fight with Canelo, that’s a whole different story. Some folks are sayin’ he coulda got up to 30 million, with 17.5 million guaranteed, but that sounds like a whole lot of hogwash to me. I mean, 30 million? That’s Canelo money.
More likely, he got a good chunk of change, maybe a few million at least. But it ain’t nothin’ like what Canelo got. Still, it’s more money than most of us will ever see, so good for him, I say. He went in that ring and fought, gotta give him credit for that.
It’s All a Guessing Game, Ain’t It?
The thing is, nobody really knows for sure how much these fellas made ‘cept them and their accountants, and they ain’t talkin’. All we got is guesses and whispers. They say they’ll tell us after the fight, but by then, who remembers? It’s all just a bunch of hooey if you ask me.
Why So Much Money Anyways?
Makes you wonder why they get paid so much money just to punch each other, don’t it? I mean, it ain’t like they’re farmin’ the land or buildin’ houses or somethin’ useful. But I guess that’s how it is, people like watchin’ other people fight, always have and always will, I suppose. And if folks will pay to watch it, then them fellas can make big money. That’s what they told me at the store anyways.
The Fight Itself?
Oh yeah, the fight. Canelo, he won. He’s good, that fella, real good. Munguia, he tried hard, but Canelo was just too much for him. They fought in Las Vegas, fancy place, I hear. Lots of lights and noise, I bet. I watched it on my little TV, and even on that small screen, you could see Canelo was the boss man.
So, Long Story Short…
Canelo got a mountain of money, Munguia got a good pile, and we’re all left guessin’ at the exact numbers. That’s the way it always is, ain’t it? The rich get richer, and the rest of us just keep on workin’. But hey, at least it gave us somethin’ to talk about, right? That’s more interesting than the weather, I reckon.
More About the Fight and the Money
The fight was a big deal, they said, lots of people watchin’. And when lots of people watch, that means lots of money. That’s why Canelo got so much, he’s the big draw, see? People pay to watch him, so he gets the big bucks. Munguia, he’s still up-and-comin’, so he don’t get as much, but he’s gettin’ there. Maybe next time he will get more, who knows.
They also say that this fight was good, even if Canelo did win pretty easy. It was exciting though, both those boys are tough fighters. And after the fight is when they count up all the money from the TV and all that, and then they figure out how much everybody gets. It takes a while, I guess.
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about how much them fellas got paid. It’s a lot, that’s for sure, more money than I can even imagine. But that’s the fightin’ business for ya. High risk, high reward, I guess.
