Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this fella, Fernando Torres, in that FIFA 23 game. My grandson, he’s always yappin’ about it, so I figured I’d take a look myself. Now, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout these fancy video games, but I can tell you what I see, plain and simple.
So, this Fernando fella, he’s a soccer player, a striker, they call it. Means he’s the one tryin’ to kick the ball into that net thingy. In the game, he’s got a rating, like a score, see? They say he’s an 85-rated Icon. Sounds fancy, but what it means is he’s supposed to be pretty darn good. He plays the ST position, that’s Striker, like I said. Means he’s up front, doin’ the scorin’.
Now, they got different versions of this Fernando fella in the game. It’s like, they got him when he was younger and faster, and then they got him when he was older, maybe not so fast, but maybe wiser, you know? They call ’em Icon cards, Prime Icon cards, all sorts of names. Confusin’ if you ask me.
- One of his Icon cards is rated 94, they say. That’s real high, I guess. Means he’s a real superstar in the game. They also say he’s 186cm tall, or 6’1″ in that old-fashioned way of measurin’. That’s a pretty tall fella, alright.
- Then there’s another Icon card, this one’s 86-rated. Still good, but not as good as the 94 one, see? He’s still the same height, though. Guess he didn’t shrink none.
- And then there’s this Prime Icon card, 91-rated. Seems like they got a whole bunch of these Fernando fellas runnin’ around in that game. This one’s also 6’1”. Makes you wonder how many of him there really are.
- There are other versions in that EA FC 24 game too. I swear, they make it so complicated. He’s always a striker though, that much is clear. He’s from Spain, that’s what they say. And he plays for these “Icons,” whoever they are.
They got these things called “stats” too. That’s like, how good he is at kickin’, runnin’, passin’, all that stuff. I ain’t gonna get into all that, too much for my old brain. But the higher the stats, the better he is, that’s the gist of it. And this Fernando fella, he’s got some good stats, that’s for sure. They say he’s got 4-star skills and a 4-star weak foot. Means he can do some fancy tricks with the ball and kick it good with both feet, I reckon.
My grandson, he’s always talkin’ about buildin’ his “Ultimate Team” in the game. Sounds like he’s collectin’ these player cards, like baseball cards, but digital, you know? And he’s always lookin’ for the best players, and this Fernando fella, he’s one of the ones he wants, that’s for sure. He’s always usin’ these “Draft Simulators” and “Squad Builders” to try and get the best team. Kids these days, always on them gadgets.
They got other games too, like FIFA 17, FIFA 21, and FIFA 22. This Fernando fella, he’s in all of ‘em, it seems. He was 36 years old in FIFA 21 and 37 years old in FIFA 22. Time flies, don’t it? Makes you wonder how they keep puttin’ him in these games, year after year. Must be one heck of a player.
So, that’s the lowdown on Fernando Torres in FIFA 23, as best as I can tell ya. He’s a good striker, he’s got different versions in the game, and he’s a fella folks wanna have on their team. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about video games makes my head spin.
