Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this Cody Rhodes fella and his song, “Kingdom.” I ain’t no fancy music critic or nothin’, just a regular person who likes watchin’ wrestlin’ on TV. This Cody, he’s a big deal, y’know? Always smilin’, but tough as nails.
This “Kingdom” song, it’s kinda like his battle cry. Every time he comes out, the crowd goes wild. They yell “WOAH” real loud, it’s somethin’ else. I reckon that “WOAH” part is the best, gets ya all fired up. The rest of the song, well, it’s got a lot of… uh… “adrenaline” and talk about fightin’. Sounds like he’s ready to rumble, that’s for sure.
They say this song was made special for him, back in 2016. That’s a long time ago! He used it everywhere, even when he wasn’t wrestlin’ for that WWE place. He went to other places, TNA, NJPW, somethin’ like that. Folks say he was the “American Nightmare” back then. Sounds scary, huh? But he ain’t so scary now, seems like a good fella to me.
- He talks about hard work and “vindicating” himself. Don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds important.
- He says he had some “nightmares” before he got where he is. Guess everyone has their troubles, even big strong wrestlers.
This song ain’t just for Cody, though. Lots of folks like it. They say it’s like an “anthem,” somethin’ that makes you feel strong. Maybe it’s ’cause Cody, he went through a lot, and he kept fightin’. People like that, someone who don’t give up. They can relate to that, y’know?
Now, I ain’t gonna sit here and pretend I understand all the words in the song. Some of it’s kinda fancy, talkin’ ’bout “souls” and “crowns” and such. But the feelin’ is there. It’s powerful. It makes you wanna stand up and cheer, even if you’re just sittin’ at home in your armchair.
It’s catchy, that’s for sure. That “WOAH” part gets stuck in your head. You find yourself hummin’ it while you’re doin’ dishes or walkin’ to the store. And when you hear it on TV, you know it’s time for Cody to come out and kick some butt. It’s his sound, his… uh… “sonic embodiment,” like them smart folks say.
He seems like a fella who believes in doin’ things the right way, the hard way. No shortcuts, he says. That’s somethin’ to admire, I reckon. He’s proud of what he’s done, says he had a good run with that Intercontinental title. Seemed to make a big deal out of changin’ it. I guess wrestlers care about that stuff. He’s been through the ringer, and this song tells his story, that’s the way I see it. It’s more than just some noise they play when he walks out. It’s about his journey, his fights, his… well, his whole shebang. And the people, they love it. They sing along, they cheer, they feel it. That’s what makes a good song, I guess. It ain’t just about the music, it’s about the feelin’ it gives ya. And this “Kingdom” song, it sure gives ya a feelin’.
So yeah, that’s what I think about Cody Rhodes and his “Kingdom” song. It’s loud, it’s strong, and it makes you wanna root for the guy. And that “WOAH” part? Well, that’s just plain fun.
And that’s all I gotta say about that.
