Alright, let’s talk about this Talleres de Cordoba versus São Paulo FC game, you know, the one with the lineups and all that jazz. I ain’t no fancy sports expert or nothin’, but I can tell ya what I saw and what I heard, like them folks yappin’ down at the market square.
So, first things first, they played this match on May 30th, 2024, or somethin’ like that. It was late, real late, like when all the chickens are already sleepin’ and the moon’s hangin’ high. They was at some stadium in São Paulo, a big place, I reckon, called Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo. Folks also call it MorumBIS, fancy names for a big ol’ field if you ask me.
Now, about them lineups, that’s what the young’uns call the fellas who started the game. São Paulo, they had this fella Rafael in the goal, tryna stop the ball from goin’ in. Then there was Diego Costa, Robert Arboleda, Alan Franco, and Igor Vinicius in the back, like a wall protectin’ the house. In the middle, they had Giuliano Galoppo, tryin’ to run around and get the ball forward.
I heard someone say São Paulo plays somethin’ called a 4-2-3-1. Sounds like a bunch of numbers to me, but I guess it means they got four fellas in the back, two in the middle, three a little further up, and one fella all by himself tryin’ to score goals. That one fella, I think they said it was Luciano, he scored a goal, so I guess he did his job alright. Good for him.
As for Talleres de Cordoba, well, I don’t know them fellas as well. They came all the way from Argentina, that’s a long ways away, you know. They probably got good players too, but São Paulo, they won the game. Two to nothin’, they said. Shutout, that’s what they call it when the other team don’t score no goals. Must’ve been tough for them Talleres fellas, comin’ all that way and not gettin’ a single goal.
- Game was on May 30th, 2024
- Played in São Paulo at Estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo (MorumBIS)
- São Paulo won 2-0
- Luciano scored a goal for São Paulo
They say you can watch these games on TV or on the internet, but I ain’t got time for that. Too busy with the chores and all. But I hear people talkin’ about it, and I see the scores in the papers sometimes, when I get a chance to look at ’em. They even got these things called “odds” and “stats” now, all them numbers and figures, makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it.
But it’s nice to know what’s goin’ on, even if you don’t understand everything. Makes you feel part of things, you know? And when the local team wins, well, that’s always somethin’ to cheer about. Folks get all riled up, honkin’ their horns and yellin’, just like when the rooster crows in the mornin’, only louder.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it. São Paulo played Talleres de Cordoba, they won two to nothin’, and Luciano scored a goal. That’s all you need to know, really. The rest is just fancy talk, if you ask me.
They talk about “pre-match odds” and “match highlights” and “post-match reports”, but it all just means who they thought would win, what happened in the game, and then what happened after. Like I said, fancy talk. But the game itself, that’s simple enough. Two teams, one ball, and try to get that ball in the other fella’s net. That’s somethin’ even an old woman like me can understand.
They even got somethin’ called “call-ups”, that’s just which players got picked to play, nothin’ special. And then they try to guess who’s gonna start, they call that “predicted XI”. XI, like it’s some secret code, but it just means eleven, like the number of players on the field. See? It ain’t so complicated after all.
And that’s about all I got to say about this game. São Paulo won, Talleres lost, and Luciano scored a goal. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got to go feed the chickens.
