Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this Maripily and Roberto Alomar fella. Heard all sorts of things ’bout them, you know, like folks gossipin’ at the market.
So, this Roberto, he was a baseball player, a good one they say. Hit the ball real far, caught it too. Played for all sorts of teams, Blue Jays, Orioles, Mets, even the White Sox. Folks sayin’ he was an All-Star, whatever that means. Won a bunch of them Gold Glove thingies too. Sounded like he was a big deal back in the day. They said he got like, 2,724 hits, and over 200 home runs. That’s a whole lotta hittin’ if you ask me.

Now, Maripily, she’s a looker, a Puerto Rican model. Pretty lady, from what I seen in them pictures. Born in Ponce, they say. She’s a glamour model, they say. Don’t rightly know what all that means, but she sure is somethin’ to look at. Folks was sayin’ she was born in 1977, makes her… well, never you mind how old that makes her.
So, these two, they got hitched in 2009. Big wedding, I reckon. But things didn’t last, no sirree. They got divorced. And that’s when the real trouble started, you see. Folks started talkin’, whisperin’ all sorts of things.
One woman, she came out and said Roberto done her wrong. Said somethin’ about “sexual misconduct.” Don’t rightly know the details, and I ain’t one for gossip, but it sounded bad. Real bad. Then there was this other gal, an ex-girlfriend of Roberto’s, she sued him for a whole lotta money, $15 million they say! Can you imagine? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life!
And then, the real shocker. Maripily, she went to court and said Roberto knew he had somethin’ called HIV, and he still had unprotected… you know… with her. Lord have mercy! That’s just plain wrong. Folks were sayin’ he had AIDS too. It was all over the news, even on them puppet shows in Puerto Rico, they was talkin’ about it.
Maripily, she was real mad. Said some things about him, compared him to some other fella, said he was “frustrated.” I don’t know what all that means, but it sure sounded like she was hurtin’. And scared, I reckon. Wouldn’t you be?
This Roberto fella, he seems to have gotten himself into a whole heap of trouble after he stopped playin’ ball. All sorts of accusations and lawsuits. It’s a shame, really. He was such a big shot, and now… well, now folks just talkin’ about all the bad stuff.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Maripily and Roberto, they were a thing, a big thing for a while. But it all went sour, real sour. And now, all that’s left is the mess. Just goes to show you, money and fame ain’t everything. You gotta be a good person, treat folks right. That’s what matters in the end.
And that whole HIV thing, well, that’s just scary. Reminds you to be careful, you know? And to treat people with respect. You can’t just go around hurtin’ folks like that.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say ’bout it. Hope it makes some sense to ya. It’s a sad story, real sad. But that’s life, ain’t it? Full of ups and downs, joys and sorrows. You just gotta keep on keepin’ on, best you can.
