Jalen Hurts Squat: How Strong Is That Dude Really?
You know, that Jalen Hurts fella, the football player? Folks keep talkin’ about how strong he is, especially when it comes to squattin’. Squattin’, you know, like when you go down low like you’re sittin’ in a tiny chair and then stand back up. Well, they say he’s real good at it.
I heard tell he can squat a whole lotta weight. Some say 600 pounds, some say even more, like 625 pounds! That’s like liftin’ up a whole dang cow, I reckon. I ain’t never seen nothin’ like that, not even down at the feed store. He must eat his Wheaties, that boy.

So yeah, I guess you could say 600 pounds is a heck of a lot to squat. It’s like liftin’ a refrigerator, a big ol’ one, full of food and everything. That’s strong, real strong.

I ain’t rightly sure how that boy got so strong. Probably spends a lot of time in the gym, liftin’ weights and whatnot. You gotta work hard if you wanna be strong like that. Maybe he eats a lot of steak, too. Steak and potatoes, that’ll make you strong. And maybe he drinks them protein shakes, the ones they sell at the store. My grandson, he drinks them things, says they help him get big muscles. But back in my day, we just ate good food and worked hard, that’s how you got strong.
They say he’s a “squat machine.” Imagine that, a machine for squattin’! Sounds like somethin’ outta one of them science fiction movies. But I guess it just means he’s really, really good at squattin’. He probably squats more than any other football player, maybe even more than any strongman you see on TV.
- Is it Safe to Squat That Much?
Now, I gotta say, liftin’ all that weight, it don’t sound too safe to me. I mean, what if somethin’ slips? What if you hurt your back? My old back aches just thinkin’ about it. But I guess them fellas who do it, they know what they’re doin’. They probably got trainers and doctors and all sorts of fancy equipment to keep ’em safe. Still, makes me nervous just thinkin’ about it. I’d rather just sit on my porch and watch the birds.
- How to Get Stronger Like Jalen?
So, you wanna squat like Jalen Hurts, huh? Well, first off, you gotta be strong to begin with. Can’t just go and try to lift 600 pounds right off the bat. You gotta start small, liftin’ little weights, and then work your way up. And you gotta eat good, too. Meat and potatoes, fruits and vegetables, all that good stuff. And get plenty of sleep. Your body needs rest to get strong. And listen to your body, if it hurts, you stop. Don’t go pushin’ yourself too hard, or you’ll end up hurtin’ yourself.
They say Jalen Hurts, he’s not just strong in his legs, he’s strong all over. He can bench press a lot of weight, too, and deadlift. Deadliftin’, that’s when you lift the weight off the ground. Sounds dangerous to me. But he does it all, and he’s good at it. That boy’s just a natural athlete, I reckon.
And get this, they even talk about how much Jalen weighed back when he played college ball. Said he was 6’2” and 218 pounds. That’s a big boy, even back then. But they say muscle weighs more than fat, so maybe he wasn’t as big as you think, just strong. You know, like them fellas you see on TV, they ain’t always big, but they’re strong as an ox.
Anyway, that Jalen Hurts fella, he’s somethin’ else. Squattin’ all that weight, it’s just amazin’. I don’t know how he does it, but he does it. And he’s good at playin’ football, too. Guess you gotta be strong to play football, all that runnin’ and hittin’. But 600 pounds? That’s just somethin’ else. He’s a strong one, that Jalen Hurts. A real strong one.
