Alright, let’s gab about this Tyler Lockett fella, week 2, you know, the football stuff. I don’t know much about this fancy football, but my grandson, he’s always yellin’ about it. Says this Lockett guy is a big deal, so let’s see what all the fuss is about.
Tyler Lockett, Week 2: What’s the Deal?
So, this Tyler Lockett, he plays for them Seahawks, the bird team. My grandson says he’s been catchin’ balls for a good long while now. Years and years, he says. That’s a long time to be runnin’ around, I tell ya. My knees would be shot! Apparently, he’s a good one to have on your, whatchamacallit, fantasy team. Sounds like make-believe to me, but these young folks, they love their games.
Now, week 2 is comin’ up, and folks are wonderin’ if Lockett’s gonna be any good. See, last week, he didn’t do so hot. Grandson was grumbling about it, somethin’ about only catchin’ two balls. Ten yards, he says. Ten yards! That ain’t much, even I know that. You could walk that faster than he ran it, I betcha.
- Is he hurt? That’s what folks wanna know. Seems he got banged up a bit, but they say he’s alright now. No more boo-boos, they say. He’s been practicin’ and all, so I guess he’s ready to go. Hope he don’t get hurt again, though. Breakin’ a leg? That sounds awful. Happened to him once, they say. Poor fella.
- Who to start? This is where it gets confusing. Grandson’s got all these players, and he can only pick some of ’em. He’s got this other guy, Brandin Cooks, and he don’t know who to choose. Lockett or Cooks, Lockett or Cooks…he keeps sayin’ it over and over. Drives me nuts! I told him to just flip a coin, but he says it ain’t that simple. These young folks, they make things so complicated.
They got these fellas, these experts, they give advice. Like this Derek Brown fella. He tells folks who to pick. He’s been talkin’ about Lockett, sayin’ this and that. Last year, he had somethin’ to say, and this year too. I don’t understand half of it, all this “targets” and “matchups” talk. Just tell me if the boy’s gonna catch the ball or not!
