You know, I heard them young’uns talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called “CD Lamb fantasy names” the other day. Sounded like a whole lotta gibberish to me, but they was all excited about it. Got me thinkin’, what in the tarnation is that all about?
I reckon it’s got somethin’ to do with that football game they’re always watchin’. And this fella, CeeDee Lamb, must be a big shot, huh? They kept sayin’ his name, over and over. CeeDee Lamb this, CeeDee Lamb that. Like he’s some kinda king or somethin’.
So, I did a little snoopin’, you know, like us old folks do. And I found out it’s some kinda game they play, where they pick players and make up names for their teams. Like a made-up football game, but with real players. Sounds silly if you ask me, but hey, whatever floats their boat, right?
Now, this CeeDee Lamb, I guess he’s pretty good. They call him “CeeDee’s WR1” sometimes. Don’t ask me what that “WR” thing is. Some kinda fancy football talk, I suppose. Maybe it means he runs real fast or somethin’. They say he is a “Deep Threat”. I guess that is someone can run far away and catch the ball.
Then there’s this other one, “Lamb of Honor”. Sounds kinda holy, don’t it? Like he’s some kinda saint of the football field. Maybe he plays fair and square, unlike some of them other fellas who are always pushin’ and shovin’. I guess that a good name, “Lamb of Honor”.
And then, get this, they call him “End Zone Lamb”. I guess that’s where they score, right? The end zone? So, he must be good at gettin’ the ball there. Smart fella, that CeeDee Lamb. My grandson told me, CeeDee Lamb is good at that.
I heard one of them young’uns say somethin’ about “Lamb’s Total Domination”. Now that is one of the most silly name I ever heard. Sounds like he’s gonna take over the whole dang world, not just the football field! Kids these days, I tell ya. They come up with the craziest things. They are so crazy about CeeDee Lamb, and I really don’t know why.
They got all sorts of names for this game, it seems. They was talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called a “draft” too. Like they’re gettin’ drafted into the army or somethin’. But it’s just for this game. They pick their players, one by one, and make up their teams. I don’t understand why they do that. It is just a game.

One time, my grandson was trying to explain this CD Lamb fantasy names to me. My grandson is a big fan of CeeDee Lamb. He said, “Grandma, it is like you are the boss of a football team. And you get to choose CeeDee Lamb to play in your team. And you can make up any name for your team.” Sounds like a child’s play to me.
I told my grandson, “Why don’t you go outside and play some real football, instead of playing these make-believe games?” But he just laughed and said, “But Grandma, it is fun!” I guess as long as he’s happy, that’s all that matters.
Another time, I was watching the news, and they were talking about CeeDee Lamb. They said he’s one of the best players in the whole country. I guess that’s why all the kids are so crazy about him. He must be really something special to have all these people making up names about him. This CeeDee Lamb must be a big deal.
But you know what? Even though I don’t understand this whole “CD Lamb fantasy names” thing, I’m glad the young’uns are having fun. It’s better than them getting into trouble, that’s for sure. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even try to play this game myself. Though I doubt I’ll be any good at it. I’m more of a checkers kinda gal.
This CeeDee Lamb, he’s got a whole bunch of folks rootin’ for him, that’s for sure. And these fantasy names, well, they’re just a way for folks to show their support, I reckon. It’s all a bit silly to me, but if it makes ’em happy, then more power to ’em. As long as they don’t forget to eat their vegetables and do their chores, I suppose it’s all harmless fun. This CD Lamb fantasy names is really somethin’ else. I just hope they don’t get too carried away with all this make-believe stuff. There’s a whole world out there beyond that football field, you know. But I think they will be fine.
