You know, that WWE thing, it’s coming to Springfield, Missouri! My grandson, he’s all excited, been yapping about it for weeks. Says it’s a big deal, this WWE Supershow. I don’t know much about it, but if it makes him happy, it’s alright by me.
They say it’s gonna be at that Great Southern Bank Arena. I think it used to be called something else, but don’t matter. It’s that big place downtown. Heard it’s on a Sunday, October 15, 2023. Lots of folks are going, I reckon. They say about 3,565 tickets are gone. That’s a lot of people for Springfield!
This ain’t the first time this WWE has come to Springfield, MO. They was here before, a few years back, I believe. Seems like they come around every now and then. This time, they got all these wrestlers, these big strong guys. My grandson, he knows all their names, but they just all look the same to me! Big and loud and jumpin’ all over each other.
He keeps going on about this Royal Rumble. I don’t know what that is. He also mentioned, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and NXT 2.0. And something called, Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. Sounds like a whole lot of hoopla to me! I guess the young folks like it. Keeps ’em out of trouble, I suppose.

I saw some folks talkin’ about it at the store. They was saying you can get tickets at some place called the MassMutual Center. Or something like that. I don’t rightly know. My grandson, he got his tickets online, I think. These kids and their computers, always on them things!
There’s also gonna be some other wrestlin’ thing, called Always Ready To Rumble #VI. Sounds rough. That’s at the Springfield Expo Center. Don’t know much about that one, but I hear it’s across the street from somewhere. Probably that Great Southern Bank Arena place.
They say this WWE thing is a big show. Lots of lights and noise, I imagine. My grandson, he’s gonna go with his friends. They are all excited. Me, I’ll stay home. Too much noise for these old ears. I prefer a quiet evening, maybe watch some television.
But this WWE in Springfield, MO, it’s a big deal for the town, I guess. Brings folks in, spends their money. Good for the businesses, I suppose. That Smitty’s Mid-West Boxing Gym, they do their own boxing thing. Heard they got 30 bouts, whatever that means. Some kind of awards, too. Sounds tiring just thinking about it!
I heard some folks are gonna watch that Royal Rumble thing at Hooters. I remember Hooters, that restaurant with all those pretty girls. Food was good, too. I guess they show this wrestlin’ stuff now. Times are changin’, I tell ya.
This WWE thing, it’s been around for a while. They used to call it something else, I think. Back in the day, they had some big thing where they gave away a house in Orlando. Imagine that, winning a whole house! Must have been something. This was a long time ago, back in 1995, I believe. They called it, In Your House. That’s a funny name.
Well, I reckon that’s all I know about this WWE Springfield, MO business. It’s a big to-do, that’s for sure. If you like that sort of thing, I guess it’s worth going to. Me, I’ll just stay home and knit. But you young folks go on and have your fun!

That grandson of mine, bless his heart, he’s so excited to see WWE. He’s a good boy. Says these WWE wrestlers are his heroes. I don’t understand it, but it makes him happy. And that’s all that matters, I suppose. It’s for the first time in three years. So many people will come. It’s so exciting. He says he will tell me all about WWE Supershow. I don’t know what it is but it makes him happy!
