Well, let me tell you, this whole tour average ball speed thing is somethin’ else. I heard folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the general store the other day. They was goin’ on and on about how fast them golf balls go. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it.
What in tarnation is Ball Speed?
Now, I ain’t no expert on this golf stuff. But I reckon this ball speed is just how fast that little white ball goes flyin’ after you whack it with that club. Seems like the faster it goes, the farther it goes. That makes sense, don’t it?
Them young folks, they all want that ball to go like a rocket. They say the pros hit it so fast, it’s like a blur. They got all these fancy numbers. One fella was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout 171 miles per hour. Goodness gracious, that’s faster than my old truck ever went!
- Fast ball means long shot, I guess.
- Pros hit it real, real fast.
- Faster than my old truck.
How to Hit the Ball Faster?
Now, they say there’s ways to make that ball go faster. Some talk about swingin’ that club faster. Like you’re tryin’ to outrun a swarm of bees. Others say it’s all in how you move your body. Like you’re churnin’ butter, I suppose. These young fellas practice all the time, and some use these golf swing drills to help them.
I saw one fella swingin’ his club like a windmill in a hurricane. He was sure makin’ a lot of noise. Said he was doin’ some kind of drill. And some say you need to swing that club faster on the way back, like you are in a hurry, to make it go faster when you hit the ball. You don’t need to change how you swing, just need to be faster on the way back, you see.
They even got these things called medicine balls. I don’t know why, cause I don’t think you are supposed to take them as medicine. But they say it helps you when you throw them around. There was also a fella who said if you swing faster, you can get 2-3 yards more. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds good.
- Swing the club real fast.
- Move your body like churnin’ butter.
- Practice, practice, practice.
Why Bother with All This?
I guess if you hit that ball faster and farther, you get to the hole quicker. And that’s the whole point of this golf thing, ain’t it? Get that little ball in that little hole. Seems like a lot of work to me. But I reckon it keeps folks busy.
They say it makes the game more fun. Maybe it does. I wouldn’t know. I’d rather be sittin’ on my porch, sippin’ sweet tea. But hey, to each their own, right?
I hear folks talk about tour average ball speed and how important it is. They say the better you are, the faster you hit it. One fella said if you are a 5 handicap male player, your ball will go at 147 mph. A 10 handicap will go at 138 mph. I don’t know what those numbers mean, but the smaller the number in front of the word ‘handicap’, the faster that ball goes, I guess.
And for the ladies, they say a 5 handicap female golfer will hit it around 125 mph. They also say swing speed is important for that ball speed. So the faster you swing, the faster that ball will go. They say that the pros hit it super fast, around 171 mph. They practice a lot.
- Get the ball in the hole quicker.
- Makes the game more fun, maybe.
- Keeps folks busy.
Just My Two Cents
This whole tour average ball speed business is a bit much for me. But I reckon if you’re into that sort of thing, it’s important to know about. Just remember, there’s more to life than chasin’ a little white ball around a field. But if that’s what makes you happy, then you go right ahead and chase it.
Just don’t forget to take a break every now and then. Sit down, have a glass of sweet tea, and enjoy the simple things in life. That’s what I always say. There’s more to life than how fast you can hit a little ball, you see. But, if that makes you happy, you go and do it.
The average speed is important, you see. It’s like, how fast can you hit that darn ball, you know? The faster, the better, they say. You gotta increase ball speed, make it fly like a bird, or a plane, even. That’s what these folks are always sayin’. They say you should do some swing speed drills. They say these drills can help you hit the ball better. And if you know your shot shape, it will be better.
Now, I don’t know much about these golf ball by swing speed things. But I reckon if you hit that ball fast, it will go far. Like throwin’ a rock into the pond, you know? The harder you throw, the farther it goes. Same thing, I guess. And them pros, they hit it real fast, I hear. Faster than anything, almost. That’s why they’re pros, I suppose.
They talk about these swing faster things, like it’s some kinda magic trick. Swing fast, and the ball goes zoom! Just like that. But I reckon it takes practice. Lots and lots of practice. You can’t just swing fast once and expect the ball to fly to the moon. Gotta keep at it, like weedin’ the garden. Never ends, you know? But in the end, it’s worth it, they say.
They also talk about something called “Tour Tempo” or something. It’s like, you need to have a rhythm, a beat, like dancin’. You gotta swing to the beat, and then, wham! The ball goes flyin’. It’s all about timing, I guess. Like plantin’ seeds, you gotta do it at the right time, or nothin’ will grow. Same with golf, I reckon. You gotta hit that ball just right, or it won’t go where you want it to.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about tour average ball speed and all that jazz. Not much, but it’s somethin’. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear my pie callin’ my name.
