Okay, so, a few days ago, I was messing around, and I got this idea to really dive into what’s up with Zach Johnson’s golf gear for 2024. You know, what clubs he’s swinging, the kind of ball he’s using, all that jazz. It’s always interesting to see what the pros are using, right? So, I rolled up my sleeves and started digging.
First thing I did was hit up the internet, just browsing around to see what I could find about Zach’s setup. I mean, this guy’s a big deal, with over 10 PGA Tour wins and a couple of majors under his belt – the 2007 Masters and the 2015 British Open. So, I figured there had to be some good stuff out there about his gear.
The Driver
Alright, so, Zach’s got this PXG 0811 XF Gen4 driver. I heard it’s pretty forgiving, you know, with a big sweet spot, which I guess helps with those long shots. I mean, who doesn’t want a little extra help off the tee, right?
The Irons
- Next up, I found out he’s using these PXG 0311T Gen5 irons.
- He’s got them from the five-iron all the way down to the nine-iron.
- And get this, they’re the newer Black Label Elite ones.
- Apparently, they were spotted somewhere, but I can’t recall where exactly. It doesn’t matter now.
The Putter
This is where it gets kinda cool. Zach’s got a custom ZJ Prototype putter. I remember he used to be all about those Seemore putters, but then he switched over to PXG in 2020. It’s all about what feels right on the green, I suppose.
The Ball
For the golf ball, I saw that Johnson’s been using PXG golf balls. Yeah, he is loyal to PXG. I don’t know what ball it is. But anyway I think it was a good choice.
So, after piecing all this info together, I put together a little table. You know, just to keep track of everything. It’s always satisfying to see it all laid out neatly. Then I thought, why not share this with you guys? I mean, maybe you’re curious about this stuff too.
It’s pretty wild how much thought goes into this stuff, huh? I mean, these guys are playing at the highest level, so every little detail matters. And it’s not just about the clubs, but also the balls, the shoes, even the gloves. It’s a whole different world, man.
I gotta say, doing this little deep dive was pretty fun. Learned a lot, and it makes watching golf a bit more interesting, knowing what’s going on behind the scenes with the gear. Who knows, maybe I’ll do another one of these for a different golfer sometime. There’s always something new to discover, right?
Anyway, hope you guys found this as interesting as I did. It’s always cool to get a peek behind the curtain and see what makes these pros tick. And hey, maybe it’ll even inspire some of us to up our own golf game, who knows?
Oh, and before I forget, I heard something about Zach and Billy Horschel switching to PXG. That made some news in the equipment world. Just thought I’d throw that in there.
Alright, that’s it from me. Just wanted to share my little adventure into Zach Johnson’s golf bag. Hope you enjoyed the ride!
