So, I’ve been grinding away in “MLB The Show 24” lately, trying to get my player to the big leagues and all that jazz. But, I hit a bit of a snag. I wanted to switch teams, you know, shake things up a bit. In the older games, you could just tell your agent you weren’t happy and wanted out. But in this one? Nada.
I dug around online, and it’s true – they took out the option to directly request a trade. Bummer, right? I mean, what if you’re stuck on a team that’s just not cutting it? Or maybe you just want a change of scenery? I mean, I’ve put in the work, my player’s stats are pretty decent, but I’m still stuck.
I kept playing, hoping maybe if I performed really well, some other team would notice me. You know, kind of like how it works in real life. But nope, nothing. I even tried to contact my agent in-game, thinking maybe there’s a hidden menu or something, no new options. It’s like they really want you to stick with your original team no matter what.
Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something about a “Force Trades” option. Turns out, it’s tucked away in the settings menu, but only for Franchise mode. So, I switched over to that, found the setting, and enabled it. Finally, I had some control! I went to the trade screen and started looking for a team that I actually wanted to play for. It felt a bit like cheating, honestly, but hey, a guy’s gotta do what a guy’s gotta do, right?
I found a team that looked pretty good, made the trade, and bam! Just like that, I was on a new team. It was a workaround, for sure, but it got the job done. Still, it’s kind of a letdown that you can’t just request a trade like in the old days. It makes the whole Road to the Show thing feel a bit less, I don’t know, realistic?
Anyway, that’s my story. If you’re playing “MLB The Show 24” and you’re itching for a trade, you might have to get a little creative. It’s not ideal, but at least there’s a way to make it happen. And hopefully, maybe they’ll bring back the proper trade request feature in the next game. A player can dream, right?
