Alright, let’s talk about this Alec Pierce fella and his “fantasy outlook” for 2023. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I can tell you what’s what, the way I see it.
So, this Alec Pierce, he plays football, right? For the Indianapolis Colts, they say. Now, I don’t know much about these fancy football teams, but I hear tell he’s supposed to be good, or at least, he’s got the potential to be good. Potential, that’s the word they use all the time. Means he ain’t done nothin’ yet, but maybe, just maybe, he will someday.
They’re talkin’ about this “fantasy football.” Sounds like a whole lotta make-believe to me. But from what I gather, you pick players, and if they do good in the real games, you do good in your fantasy game. Something like that. And folks are wonderin’ if this Alec Pierce is worth pickin’ for their fantasy team.
- Is he gonna catch the ball? That’s what matters, right?
- Is he gonna run fast and score those… touchdowns, they call ’em?
- And most importantly, is that quarterback gonna throw him the ball in the first place?
Now, last year, they say he didn’t do so hot. Averaged somethin’ like 5.7 “fantasy points” a game. Whatever that means. Sounds low to me. But they’re makin’ excuses for him. Sayin’ the quarterback wasn’t no good. Well, that ain’t his fault, is it? A fella can’t catch the ball if it ain’t thrown to him, now can he?
But here’s the thing. They’re sayin’ he’s the kind of player you pick for your bench. You know, like a spare tire. You don’t need him right away, but he’s there just in case. That don’t sound too excitin’ to me. I want a player who’s gonna get in there and fight, not sit on the sidelines waitin’ for his chance.
They talk about his “dynasty trade value.” More fancy words. Sounds like they’re tryin’ to figure out if he’s gonna be good for a long time, or just a flash in the pan. And they’re lookin’ at his “positional rank.” Where he stands compared to other players who do the same thing he does. Seems like a lot of fuss to me.
But I guess that’s how these folks play their fantasy games. They got all these numbers and stats, and they try to predict the future. Me? I just watch the game and see who’s runnin’ fast and catchin’ the ball. That’s all that matters to me.
So, is Alec Pierce gonna be good in 2023? I don’t know. Nobody really knows. It all depends on that quarterback, and on Alec himself. He’s gotta step up and prove himself, that’s for sure. He can’t be sittin’ on the bench forever. He’s gotta get out there and make some plays. Show ’em what he’s made of.
Maybe he will, maybe he won’t. That’s the gamble, ain’t it? That’s what makes it fun, I guess. But me, I’m a simple woman. I like what I see. And I ain’t seen enough of Alec Pierce yet to say he’s gonna be a star. But he’s got that “potential,” they say. So, we’ll see. We’ll just have to wait and see.
If you’re playin’ this fantasy football, I guess you gotta decide if you wanna take a chance on him. Maybe he’ll be a diamond in the rough. Maybe he’ll just be a bench warmer. It’s your call. But don’t come cryin’ to me if he don’t pan out. I told you, nobody knows for sure.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football is makin’ me hungry. And let me tell you, a good pot roast is a whole lot more satisfyin’ than any fantasy game, that’s for darn sure.
