Okay, so today I decided to dive into something I’ve been curious about for a while: figuring out all the major sports teams in Los Angeles. I mean, LA is a huge city, and it feels like there’s a team for every sport imaginable!

First, I grabbed my laptop and opened up my browser. My go-to move is usually just a simple Google search, so that’s what I did. I typed in “la sports teams,” and, well, let’s just say the results were a little overwhelming.
I started by making a list. I wanted to organize things by sport, so I created categories like:
- Basketball
- Baseball
- Football
- Hockey
- Soccer
- others
Basketball
I write the result for Basketball:
- Lakers:super famous.
- Clippers:share the same stadium.
Baseball
I continue to write the result for Baseball:
- Dodgers:classic team.
- Angels:represent the larger LA area.
Football
I continue to write the result for Football:

- Rams:won a Super Bowl.
- Chargers:moved to LA.
Hockey
I continue to write the result for Hockey:
- Kings:won a Stanley Cup.
Soccer
I continue to write the result for Soccer:
- Galaxy:well-known MLS team.
- LAFC:newer team.
Others
There are some other sports, like:
- Sparks:WNBA for woman basketball.
- Angel City FC:NWSL.
After about an hour of clicking, I felt like I had a pretty solid understanding of the LA sports scene. I managed to compile a list of the major teams across all the big sports. It’s definitely a lot to keep track of, I might need to make myself a cheat sheet!
