Okay, so I was messing around with some baseball data today, and I decided to pit Austin Riley against Zack Wheeler. You know, just for fun, see how they stack up.

First, I grabbed their stats. It wasn’t too hard, I just went to one of those baseball stats websites – you know the ones – and pulled their career numbers against each other.
Then, I dumped all that data into a spreadsheet. I’m no spreadsheet wizard, but I know the basics. I made sure to have columns for things like at-bats, hits, home runs, RBIs, batting average, all that good stuff.
- At-Bats: How many times Riley has faced Wheeler.
- Hits: How many times Riley got a hit off Wheeler.
- Home Runs: You know what this is.
- RBIs: Runs Batted In, when Riley’s hit scored a run.
- AVG: Calculated Batting average, how many hits per at-bat.
Once I had all the numbers in there, I started playing around. I mean, the spreadsheet does most of the work, calculating the averages and stuff. It was pretty clear right away how each player performed.
It’s actually kind of cool to see it all laid out like that. You get a real sense of the matchup, who has the edge, and all that.
