Alright, let’s talk about this “bad medicine aram league” thing I messed around with today. It was a wild ride, lemme tell ya.
So, first off, the idea was simple: What if we all picked champions that are, shall we say, not exactly known for their healing prowess in ARAM? Like, the absolute bottom of the barrel picks when it comes to keeping your team alive. I floated the idea in our usual Discord channel, and surprisingly, everyone was down. I mean, who doesn’t love a good challenge, especially one that’s almost guaranteed to end in hilarious defeat?
We jumped into champ select, and the chaos began. I instalocked Darius. Yeah, Darius. Healing? What’s healing? We ended up with a team comp that looked something like this: Darius, Miss Fortune, Zed, Fiora, and… I think it was a LeBlanc? The point is, not a single champion with a remotely useful heal or shield. Our opponents, of course, rolled a team with Soraka, Sona, and probably a few other sustain monsters just to rub it in.
The game started, and it was exactly as terrible as we expected. We got poked down constantly. Every teamfight was a desperate scramble for health packs, and even then, we were basically relying on lifesteal and sheer aggression to stay alive. I was running around as Darius trying to stack my passive and dunk people, but it was tough when I was constantly at half health. Miss Fortune was doing her best to dish out damage, but she’s squishy as heck. Zed was… well, he was doing Zed things, jumping in and out, trying to assassinate people before they could burst him down. Fiora was split pushing (because what else is Fiora gonna do?), and LeBlanc was just trying to survive, I think.
We actually managed to snag a few kills here and there, mostly by catching people out of position or coordinating our burst. But the constant poke and sustain from their team was relentless. We kept getting pushed back, and eventually, they took our first tower. Then our second. It was a snowball effect, and we were the snowball rolling downhill.
There was one particularly funny moment where I managed to get a triple kill as Darius, only to immediately get one-shot by their fed ADC because I was still at like 20% health. My team was screaming with laughter, and honestly, I couldn’t even be mad. It was just too absurd.
Ultimately, we lost. Badly. It wasn’t even close. But you know what? It was probably the most fun I’ve had in ARAM in a while. There’s something about playing with a terrible team comp and knowing you’re going to lose that just frees you up to have fun and try crazy stuff. We weren’t worried about winning or losing, we were just there to make each other laugh.
So, yeah, “bad medicine aram league.” It was a disaster. But a glorious disaster. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Maybe next time we’ll try a full team of tanks with no damage. Or maybe a team of only melee champions against a team of ranged poke. The possibilities are endless, and the potential for hilarious failure is always there.
