I remember hearin’ about them addin’ more seats a while back. Luxury boxes, they called ’em. Sounded mighty fancy to me. And a bunch of chairback seats too, so you don’t get a sore behind sittin’ on them hard benches. They even fixed up the outfield, made it all nice and new.
Folks say it’s one of the best college ballparks around. I guess that makes sense, considerin’ how many people it holds. They talk about it bein’ up there with the biggest stadiums, not just in the country, but in the whole world. Now, I don’t know about that, but it sure seems big enough to me.
They had some trouble a while back, with that sickness goin’ around. Couldn’t let everyone in, ya know? Had to keep people separated. So they only let in a few thousand folks at first. Then they let in a few more, and then a few more after that. Slowly but surely, they started fillin’ up them seats again.
It’s important to those Razorbacks, this stadium. They’ve been to a whole bunch of tournaments, even made it to the College World Series more times than I can count on my fingers and toes. Must be somethin’ special about playin’ in front of all them fans.
And the Razorbacks ain’t just about baseball, ya know. They got that football stadium too, that big one. Holds even more people, I reckon. But that’s a whole ‘nother story. We’re talkin’ about baseball here, and that Baum Stadium, it’s somethin’ special.
