Okay, so I wanted to make a “Blue Ribbon Baseball” themed thing, and I wasn’t totally sure where to start. I knew I wanted something that looked, you know, vintage and classic, like those old-timey baseball cards or posters.

Getting Started
First, I googled a bunch of images. Stuff like “vintage baseball posters,” “blue ribbon designs,” and “retro baseball cards.” Just to get a feel for the style, the colors, the fonts – all that good stuff. I wasn’t trying to copy anything exactly, more like soak up the vibe.
Playing Around with Designs
Next, I opened up my usual design program. It’s nothin’ fancy. I just started messing around. I picked a navy blue background – seemed like a good starting point. Then I found a font that looked kinda old-school, but still readable. You know, not too swirly or anything.
- Tried a few different layouts.
- Added a baseball graphic – just a simple outline, nothing too detailed.
- Experimented with adding a “ribbon” shape. This was the trickiest part!
The Ribbon Struggle
Getting that ribbon to look right was a pain! I tried drawing it freehand, but it looked… lumpy. Like a sad, deflated balloon. So, I went back to Google and searched for some tutorials on how to make digital ribbons. Found a few that were helpful, and after a few tries, I managed to create something that looked halfway decent.
Adding Details
Once I had the basic ribbon shape, I add some simple details. Then I add a circle contains the baseball.
Finishing Touches
Finally, I added some text: “Blue Ribbon Baseball.” I played around with the placement and size until it looked balanced. I also added a very subtle texture to the background, just to give it a little bit of that vintage feel, like it had been printed on old paper.
It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! It definitely captures that old-timey baseball feel I was going for. It was a fun little project, and I learned a few new tricks along the way.
