Yo, lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout that BYU March Madness, that basketball thing, you know? It’s a big deal, that’s what it is. These young fellas, they run and jump, tryin’ to get that ball in the hoop. BYU, them’s the Cougars, they good, real good. They play in that March Madness a lot, you see?
Now, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout this BYU basketball team. They say they ain’t been in that Sweet Sixteen thingy in a while. Long time, I reckon. But they was real good back in the day, ‘specially when this Ainge fella was playin’. They say he was the best, could run like the wind, jump like a grasshopper. That was way back in, uh, 1981, I think. They even made it to the Elite Eight, whatever that is. Sounds fancy, don’t it?
- This BYU, they from a place called Provo.
- They got a lot of history, this team.
- They got good players, even now.
This year, they played some team called, uh, Duquesne. Dukes? somethin’ like that. And ya know what? BYU lost! Can you believe it? They was supposed to win, too. Had this fella, Robinson, scorin’ a whole mess of points, but it weren’t enough. That other team, they had this Grant fella, he was good, too. It’s a shame, really. I was rootin’ for them Cougars.
They talk about all these records, these BYU boys. Coaching records, conference championships, all that stuff. Seems like they won a lot of those things. Good for them, I say. Hard work pays off, you know? They even been in the Top 25, I heard. That’s gotta mean somethin’, right? They must be pretty darn good to be in the top anything. Means they better than a lot of other teams, that’s for sure.
They got players playin’ for other teams now, too. Cougars in the Pros, they call ’em. Playin’ for the big money, I guess. Good for them, I say. Make that money while you can. And some of ’em are even playin’ for their countries. Representin’ their home, you know? That’s a big honor, right there. Makes a body proud.
This BYU basketball history, it’s a long one. They been playin’ for a long time, I reckon. They got all these series records, keepin’ track of who they played and who won. Seems like they won a lot more than they lost. That’s good, ain’t it? Nobody likes a loser, that’s what I always say.
I remember hearin’ ’bout this other fella, Fredette. Jimmer, I think his name was. Played for BYU a few years back, 2010, 2011, somethin’ like that. They say he was real good, too. Took ’em far in that March Madness tournament. Musta been excitin’ to watch. I bet them folks in Provo was goin’ crazy.
BYU always in March Madness. They play and they play, every year, them boys.
BYU, that’s Brigham Young University, you know. Big school, lots of folks go there. They got a good basketball team, that’s for sure. Even if they don’t always win, they still good. They try hard, and that’s what counts. You gotta give ’em credit for that.
This March Madness history, it’s somethin’ else. All these teams, all these players, all tryin’ to be the best. It’s a big to-do, that’s what it is. And BYU, they right in the middle of it, most years. They a part of that history, you see. They are important, them boys. They play hard.
This Ainge fella, they say he could run from one end of the court to the other, real fast. Made a shot just as the buzzer sounded, beat some team called Notre Dame. Musta been somethin’ to see. I bet them BYU fans went wild. I hear about it all the time, that BYU March Madness history.
So, that’s the story of them BYU Cougars and their March Madness. They a good team, with a lot of history. They win some, they lose some, but they always out there playin’ hard. And that’s all you can ask for, ain’t it? That’s all folks want, just some hard play and good game. I like watchin’ them. BYU good.
