Hey everyone, I’ve got something to share with you today. So I’ve been hearing a lot about this game called Helldivers 2. It’s been making waves, and lots of folks are talking about it. Naturally, I got curious and wanted to check it out for myself. Since I still have my trusty old PS4, the first thing I did was to see if I could play Helldivers 2 on it.
I jumped online and started digging around. The first few posts I found were pretty straightforward. They all said the same thing: Helldivers 2 is not available on the PS4. Bummer, right? I mean, the first Helldivers was on both PS4 and PS3, so I kind of expected the sequel to be on PS4 as well. But nope, it’s only on PS5 and PC. I guess that makes sense, considering the PS5 has been out for a while now.
I kept reading, and some folks were saying that the PS4 just can’t handle Helldivers 2. Apparently, the game needs some extra features that the PS4 can’t provide. Something about technical specifications. Yeah, it’s a bit over my head. Anyway, it seems like the developers decided to focus on the newer console to make the game as good as possible.
Here’s what I found out after more digging:
- Helldivers 2 is a PS5 and PC exclusive. This means no Xbox either, which is another bummer for those folks.
- There’s no plan to release Helldivers 2 on PS4. I saw a few posts saying that there’s no evidence it will ever come to PS4.
- You need PlayStation Plus to play it. This is important because Helldivers 2 is an online-only game, so you gotta be subscribed to play.
So yeah, that’s the story. I really wanted to play Helldivers 2 on my PS4, but it looks like I’ll have to upgrade to a PS5 or get a gaming PC to join the fun. It’s a bit of a letdown, but I get it. Technology moves on, and sometimes we have to move on with it.
I just hope that one day I can save up enough to get a PS5 so that I won’t miss out on all the great games anymore! For anyone out there thinking about getting Helldivers 2, make sure you have the right console or a PC that can run it. Don’t be like me, thinking you can just fire it up on your old PS4. I just hope I can get a new console before the next hot title drops!
