Hey everyone, so today I wanted to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately: is PGA 2K23 cross-platform? I’ve been really getting into this game, and I’ve got friends on different consoles, so naturally, I started wondering if we could all play together.
I first tried to just hop into a game with my buddy who’s on Xbox, while I’m on PS5. I went to the multiplayer menu, selected “Private Match,” and tried to invite him. But, I couldn’t find his username. Turns out, we needed to make sure we had the cross-platform feature enabled. Once I turned on that option in the settings, I tried finding him again, and boom, there he was!
We started a match, and it was a blast! We were trash-talking each other, trying to outdo each other’s shots, and it felt like we were right there on the course together, even though we were on different platforms.
After that success, I started digging deeper. I found out that PGA 2K23 does support cross-platform play, but with some limitations. For example, it works between PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. That’s pretty awesome because it means a huge chunk of the player base can play together.
- Tried crossplay on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
- Figured out that you need to enable crossplay in the settings.
- Successfully played with my friend on a different console.
- Confirmed that PGA 2K23 supports crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
- Discovered that crossplay is not available between PC and consoles.
However, I also learned that you can’t play between PC and consoles, which is a bit of a bummer. I have a few friends who game on PC, and it would have been cool to include them in our rounds. Maybe that’s something they’ll add in the future, who knows?
But overall, I’m stoked that PGA 2K23 has cross-platform play between PlayStation and Xbox. It just makes it so much easier to connect with friends and enjoy the game together, no matter what console they’re on. It also seems that crossplay is available in both Private Matches and Casual Matchmaking modes which make it easy to play with friends or even random opponents.
I also saw something about cross-progression which means, at least on PlayStation and Xbox, your progress in MyCAREER is shared across generations. So, if you are playing on PS4 and later upgrade to PS5, your progress carries over.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience with you all. If you’ve been wondering about cross-platform play in PGA 2K23, hopefully, this clears things up a bit. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a tee time with my Xbox buddy. Game on!
