Okay, so I got this crazy idea the other day. I was watching some old Olympic highlights, and Celine Dion’s “The Power of the Dream” came on. You know, the one she sang at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics? It totally gave me chills, and I thought, “I gotta do something with this.”

So, I started by just listening to the song. Over and over. I wanted to really feel the emotion, the build-up, everything. I even watched the original performance from the Olympics a bunch of times. It’s so powerful, right?
My Little Experiment
Then I decided I want to put the song to the test using other olympics videos. So I:
- Searched some Olympic videos on the Internet.
- Downloaded some videos of athletes at their peak moments.
- Opened a free video editing software on my computer.
- Imported both video and Celine Dion’s song into the software.
- Trimmed and cut both video and audio.
- Aligned them together.
Then, came the fun part.I started pulling up all sorts of Olympic clips – swimming, gymnastics, track and field, everything. I found some epic moments, you know, where the athletes are really pushing themselves, showing that incredible determination.
Next, I went into my super basic video editing software. Nothing fancy, just the free one I have on my computer. I started layering the song over the video clips, trying to match the music’s swells and quiet moments with the action on screen. It was tricky at first, to be honest.
I spent a good few hours just messing around, moving clips, adjusting the timing, trying to get that perfect sync. Sometimes it worked beautifully, other times it was a total mess. But I kept at it, because when it clicked, it was amazing.
Finally, I managed a draft and exported the finished file and put it on a new folder.
And wow. It’s one powerful motivation for me! You gotta try it!
