Well, well, well, lookie here! Everybody talkin’ ’bout this big game. Chinese Taipei vs. Oman. Big soccer game, I hear. My grandson, he’s always yellin’ at the TV ’bout these things. He knows all the players, all the teams. Me? I just like to see ’em run around. Keeps ’em outta trouble, I reckon.
This Chinese Taipei, they ain’t doin’ so hot, I hear. Lost a buncha games in a row. Like a chicken with its head cut off, runnin’ around but not gettin’ anywhere. That’s what my grandson says, anyway. He’s a smart boy, that one. Knows all about this prediction stuff. I don’t know nothin bout no prediction.
And this Oman, they’re supposed to be good. Real good. Like a well-oiled machine, my grandson says. They got all their ducks in a row. They’re probably gonna win, if you ask me. But what do I know? I just watch the pretty colors on the TV.
- This game, it’s part of some big tournament. Asia somethin’. World Cup somethin’. Lots of teams playin’.
- My grandson says this Chinese Taipei vs. Oman game is on June 6th. June 6th, 2024, he say. That’s today! He’s real excited.
- They playin’ in Taipei. That’s a big city, I think. Lots of people there. Probably a big stadium, too. Lots of yellin’ and hollerin’, I bet.
Now, these fellas, they kick that ball around, try to get it in the net. That’s the whole point, I guess. Score more goals than the other fellas. Simple enough, even I can understand that. But there’s all these rules, and these fellas in the striped shirts blowin’ whistles. Confuses me, sometimes.
This prediction, it’s like guessin’ the weather. You can look at the clouds, feel the wind, but you never really know for sure. Same with this game. You can look at how many games they won, how many they lost, but you never really know what’s gonna happen ’til they play. A prediction just a guess.
These Chinese Taipei boys, they need to get their act together. My grandson says they need to practice more. Pass the ball better, shoot the ball better. Everything better. He gets real worked up about it. I just tell him to calm down, it’s just a game. But he don’t listen to his old grandma.
And this Oman team, they probably just keep doin’ what they’re doin’. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, that’s what I always say. They’re winnin’, so they must be doin’ somethin’ right. No need to change things up just ’cause some folks are makin’ predictions.
- My grandson says there are these things called “odds.” Like bettin’ on horses, I guess. But I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that.
- He also talks about “head to head.” Like two rams buttin’ heads. Means how these teams did when they played each other before.
- He says Oman is gonna win five to zero. Five to nothin’! That’s a lot of goals. Poor Chinese Taipei.
I remember when my husband, bless his soul, used to play ball. Not this fancy soccer, but just kickin’ a ball around in the field. They had fun, though. That’s what matters, I think. Havin’ fun. These Chinese Taipei boys, they look a little too serious to me. Maybe they need to loosen up a bit. Enjoy the game. That is the point right?
This whole Chinese Taipei vs. Oman thing, it’s a big deal, I guess. People all over the world watchin’. Writin’ about it. Makin’ predictions. It’s all a bit much for me. I just like to see the young folks runnin’ around, gettin’ some exercise. Good for the body, good for the soul.
So, who’s gonna win? Well, like I said, I think Oman‘s got a good chance. But you never know. Maybe Chinese Taipei will surprise us all. Maybe they’ll pull a rabbit outta their hat. That’s what makes it interestin’, I suppose. The not knowin’. The wonderin’.
Anyway, I gotta go. My stories is on. Don’t wanna miss that. It’s a real good one today. Lots of drama. Just like this Chinese Taipei vs. Oman game, I reckon. Lots of drama. But at least with my stories, I know how it’s gonna end. I am so old, I saw everything, I know everything. I am just an old lady who know nothin.
