Okay, so I wanted to keep better track of the Ipswich Town vs. Watford F.C. game, specifically the timeline. I’m a big fan of tracking match events, I decided to create a simple record for it, and I like having my own notes.
Getting Started
First, I needed to find a good source for live updates. there are a lot of sports websites, but I needed one with a focus in this match.
Building the Timeline
I created a simple text document to record the events. My approach was pretty basic:
- Time: Note the minute of the game when something happened.
- Event: Describe what occurred (goal, yellow card, substitution, etc.).
- Team: Obviously, which team did it (Ipswich or Watford).
- Player (if applicable): Who was involved?
- My notes:Add some my personal notes.
As the game went on, I just kept adding to the document.
What I Did During the Game
Every time something significant happened, I’d quickly jot it down with the timestamp. I also wanted to make sure to catch all the substitutions, as I like to track the time.
Reflections
It’s a pretty straightforward system, but it works for me! I can see the flow of the game at a glance, and it’s much easier to remember key moments later on. I might add extra detail in the future like notes on the type of goal or the reason for a card, but for now, this simple timeline does the trick.
It’s nothing fancy, but I get a little kick out of having my own record of the match.
