Alright, so I’ve been seeing this “Conor McGregor suit fu” thing pop up everywhere lately, and let me tell you, my curiosity was piqued. I mean, the guy’s known for his fighting and his fancy suits, so I figured, why not combine the two? It sounded like a fun little project to try out.
First things first, I had to get a suit. I didn’t want to ruin any of my good ones, so I hit up a thrift store and snagged a decent-looking one for cheap. It wasn’t exactly McGregor’s style, but hey, it would do the trick.
Next up, I started practicing some basic moves in the suit. I threw some punches, practiced my kicks, and even attempted a few takedowns on a poor, unsuspecting cushion. Let me tell you, moving around in a suit is a whole different ball game. It’s restrictive, it’s hot, and it’s definitely not designed for high kicks.
I spent a good few days just getting used to the feel of it, making sure I could move without ripping the seams or looking like a complete fool. I watched some of McGregor’s fights, trying to pick up on his movements and see if I could somehow incorporate them into my suit-clad routine.
- Day 1: Mostly just feeling out the suit, doing some light stretching and shadow boxing.
- Day 2: Started incorporating some kicks, which was a challenge. The pants were not having it.
- Day 3: Tried some takedown attempts, realized I needed to work on my balance in a suit. It is not easy to move around!
- Day 4: Felt more comfortable, started putting together some simple combinations.
- Day 5: Decided to film myself to see how ridiculous I looked. It was pretty bad.
The Outcome
After a week of this madness, I came to a few conclusions. One, Conor McGregor is a beast for being able to fight as well as he does. Two, suits are not meant for fighting, no matter how sharp you look. And three, I probably looked like an idiot flailing around in my thrift store suit.
But you know what? It was a blast. I had fun, I got a little workout in, and I learned that “suit fu” is definitely more of a concept than a practical fighting style. Would I recommend it? Probably not. But hey, if you’re looking for a good laugh and a unique way to test your coordination, give it a shot. Just don’t expect to be the next Notorious.
I won’t be sharing any videos of my “suit fu” escapades, though. Some things are better left to the imagination. Trust me on this one.
