Alright, so, I’ve been following the CSUN women’s basketball team lately, and boy, has it been a rollercoaster. I started this journey right around their season opener. They were up against the La Sierra Golden Eagles, and I decided to actually go and see the game in person at the Premier America Credit Union Arena. What a way to kick things off! They clinched a win, 70-56. I remember seeing Erica Adams, one of their seniors, really shining that day.
After that high, I kept tabs on them through their Big West play. They had some away games, like one against UC Davis, which I followed online. It’s tough to catch every game in person, you know? Then they came back home to play Cal State Fullerton. I made sure to be there. The energy in the arena is just something else.
- I also noticed they were celebrating Girls and Women in Sports Day when they played against the Tritons. That was a nice touch. I tried to be supportive of that, showing up with some friends who weren’t really into basketball before.
But, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing. I watched, a bit heartbroken, as they fell to the Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine, 75-47. That one stung. And it wasn’t just that game. They faced Long Beach State and lost 88-75. I was streaming that game on my phone while I was supposed to be doing something else, but hey, don’t tell anyone.
Another tough one was against the University of San Diego Toreros. They lost 74-52. I remember reading the updates and seeing Erica Adams leading the team with 15 points, but it wasn’t enough. It’s tough seeing your team go through these rough patches.
My thoughts overall?
Well, being a fan is about sticking with your team through thick and thin, right? I’ve learned that from following the CSUN women’s basketball team. I’ll keep supporting them, going to games when I can, and cheering them on. It’s been a wild ride, but that’s what makes it exciting. You never know what’s going to happen next, and that’s part of the charm of sports, isn’t it?
