Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Aaron Judge. Big fella, plays baseball, you know, for them Yankees. Heard he’s real good at hittin’ that ball, real far. Folks say he’s a star, one of them MVPs. Don’t know much ’bout that MVP stuff, but sounds important.
Now, they talkin’ ’bout where he comes from, his people, you know? His nationality and ethnicity, they call it. Sounds fancy, but it just means where your folks and their folks before ’em came from. This Aaron, he’s American, born in California, I think. That’s what they sayin’ on the TV.
But it ain’t that simple, see? His folks, they mixed. His daddy, seems he’s got African in him. Black, you know. And his mama, she’s got some German and English in her. White folks. So, this Aaron, he’s both, I guess. They call it “biracial,” means two races mixed together. Heard he was adopted too. Good folks, them Judges, raised him right, seems like.

It’s kinda like in our town, you got folks from all over. Some families been here forever, some just moved in. Some got dark skin, some got light skin. Some speak different than others. But we all just folks, tryin’ to get by. This Aaron, he’s just a fella playin’ baseball, even if he is a famous one. And his folks, they from different places, just like lots of folks in this country.
Now, I don’t know why it matters so much where folks come from. What matters is if they’re good people, right? But I guess folks like to know these things. Makes ’em feel connected, maybe. Like they know somethin’ special ’bout someone. So, there ya have it. Aaron Judge, American fella, mixed folks, plays baseball real good. That’s all I know.
Aaron Judge, seems like a good young man. He works hard, plays fair, and makes his folks proud, I bet. That’s what matters, ain’t it? Not where your grandpappy come from, but what you do with your own life. And this fella, he’s doin’ alright, seems to me.
