Alright, alright, let’s talk about this SW19 thing. Don’t go getting all fancy on me now, I’ll tell ya what it is in plain English, the way I see it.
So, SW19, that’s like a, you know, a code, a number thingy, for a place. Like how your house has a number, well, this SW19 is a number for a whole bunch of houses and streets all bunched together. It’s in that big city, London, you know, the one with the Queen… or, well, the King now, innit? Anyways, it’s in the south-west part of that big city, way over there.
What’s in SW19? Well, it’s got a few places you might have heard of. There’s this Wimbledon place. Big deal, that Wimbledon. They got that… that tennis thing going on there. You know, them fellas hitting a little ball back and forth over a net. Rich folks go watch it, I hear. Lots of grass too, real pretty, they say. Wimbledon Common, they call it. Big ol’ park, good for walking, I guess. And there’s also Raynes Park, Colliers Wood, all mixed in there too. Just a bunch of houses and streets, really, but they all got that SW19 number attached to ’em.
Now, some folks say it’s a real nice place to live, this SW19. Fancy, even. They talk about good schools and fast internet. You know, for all them young’uns to do their schoolwork on them computer things. And they got shops and things, places to buy your bread and milk, I reckon. And they say it’s close to the city, so you can go see all the sights if you want. But I bet it costs a pretty penny to live there, you know? Not for the likes of us, I’d say.
- So, to recap, SW19 is a number thingy for a place in London.
- It’s got Wimbledon, where they play that tennis.
- It’s also got Raynes Park and Colliers Wood, just more houses and streets.
- People say it’s nice and fancy, but probably costs a lot of money.
They call it a postcode, this SW19. Like I said, a number for a place. Helps the postman find your house, I guess. Though I don’t know why they can’t just write the street name and be done with it. All this numbering and coding, it’s too much for my old head. But that’s the city for ya, always gotta be complicated.
Some folks even call Colliers Wood by a different name, Collywood they say. Sounds like one of them movie places in America. But it’s just the same old place, really. Just a bunch of houses and streets, like I said, all with that SW19 number. It’s all part of that Greater London, they say. Bigger than any town I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure.
And get this, they say it’s one of the best places to live in London. Can you believe it? Best place! I reckon that means it’s real clean and tidy, no rubbish in the streets. And probably quiet too, not like them noisy city centers. But like I said, probably costs a fortune. You got to be somebody important to live there I imagine, not just plain folks like me.
So there ya have it. SW19. A place in London. Tennis, parks, houses. Fancy and expensive. That’s all there is to it, as far as I can tell. Don’t let them city folks confuse ya with all their fancy talk. It’s just a place, with a number, and that’s all you need to know. Now, where’s my cup of tea?
