Alright, so today I dove into the world of Dak Fantasy Football. I’ve heard people talk about it, and I figured, why not give it a shot? Here’s how it went down.
Getting Started
First, I needed to find a platform. I mean that is where do you even do fantasy football?.
After asking some friends I decided to try to create an account.
I signed up, which was pretty easy. Just the usual stuff, email, password, username. I picked a team name I thought was pretty clever, but I’m not gonna lie, I spent way too long on that part. It took me about 20 min to set up my profile to be honest!
The Draft
Next up was the draft. This is where you pick your players. Honestly, I felt a little lost at first. There were so many names, stats, and projections flying around. I started by grabbing some players I recognized, the big names, you know? Then I tried to fill out the rest of my roster, focusing on positions I thought were important.
- Quarterbacks: Gotta have a good one, right?
- Running Backs: These guys seem to score a lot of points.
- Wide Receivers: Same as running backs, I guess?
- Tight Ends: I don’t fully get it, but I picked one.
- Kicker: Figured I needed one of these.
- Defense/Special Teams: No clue, just picked a team I liked.
Playing the Game
I created a mock draft just to see how I would do. The actual game started, I was going up against a friend to see who would win.
Once I felt comfortable enough with my team, I went ahead and joined a league.
Now, I just wait to see the season to start and to see how well my team does!
My First Impressions
Honestly, it was more fun than I expected. I’m not a huge football expert, but I enjoyed the strategy part of picking players and trying to build a winning team. The draft was a bit overwhelming, but I think I got the hang of it. I can see why people get really into this. Will I become a fantasy football addict? Maybe not, but I’m definitely going to keep playing and see how my team does.
It’s a fun way to keep up with the sport, I think I learned a lot by just trying it out. It’s definitely something you have to try on your own to learn.
