Alright, so I was watching some golf highlights from last year, 2023, you know, just kicking back. And I kept noticing Billy Horschel. Something about his setup kinda caught my eye, made me wonder what exactly he was swinging.

You know how it is, you see a pro hit a few good shots, and suddenly you’re thinking, ‘Huh, wonder what he’s got in the bag?’ Especially Horschel, he’s got that distinct style. So, I decided to do a little digging, just out of curiosity.
It wasn’t super straightforward, gotta say. You try looking this stuff up, and sometimes it’s clear, other times you’re squinting at grainy photos or trying to catch a glimpse during a broadcast. Spent a bit of time bouncing around, looking at tournament pics from ’23.
You piece it together bit by bit. Sometimes they stick with the same stuff for ages, other times they swap things out week to week. But I reckon I got a decent idea of his main gear for that season.
Driver and Woods
Looked like he was sticking with Titleist for the big sticks, which makes sense. Seemed like the TSR3 driver was his go-to for most of the year. Pretty popular choice, that one.
Then for fairway woods, looked like a couple of TSR2+ or TSR3 models in there. Hard to tell the exact lofts sometimes from pictures, you know? But definitely Titleist metals.
Irons
Now the irons, that’s where it often gets interesting. From what I could gather, he was playing those Titleist 620 MBs. You know, the classic muscle backs. Takes some serious ball-striking to handle those day in, day out. Not for the faint of heart, definitely not for my game anymore!
He carried them down through the pitching wedge, looked like.
Wedges
For the scoring clubs, seemed like the usual suspects: Titleist Vokey wedges. Probably the Vokey Design SM9s. Most pros use Vokeys, feels like. He likely had a few different lofts in there, maybe a 52, 56, and a 60 degree, something like that. Gotta have those tools for the short game.

Putter
The putter is always personal. Looked like he was rolling a Ping Sigma 2 Tyne mallet for a good chunk of 2023. Funny how lots of guys, even if they’re signed with one brand, might hang onto an old favorite putter from someone else. If it works, it works, right?
Ball
And the ball, almost always the Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x. Pretty much the standard out there.
So yeah, that’s kinda what I pieced together for Billy Horschel’s bag in 2023. Mostly Titleist, as you’d expect, but with that Ping putter thrown in. Always interesting to see what these top guys are trusting when the pressure’s on. Took a bit of looking, but it’s fun to figure it out sometimes. Makes watching them play a little different when you know what they’re hitting.
