Well, now, you’re askin’ about them baseball teams, huh? You know, them MLB teams, the ones that play all across the country, and some even up in Canada. There’s quite a few of ’em, 30 in total to be exact. And if you’re lookin’ for ’em in alphabetical order, I can give you the rundown, no problem.
Now, don’t you worry. I’ll start from the very beginning, with ‘A’, and go all the way to ‘Z’. But I’ll also throw in a bit about where they’re from, so you can get to know these teams better, like you’re sittin’ down for a nice cup of tea and a good chat.
Here’s them teams in alphabetical order:
- Arizona Diamondbacks – From Phoenix, Arizona. They’ve been around since 1998, so they’re fairly new compared to the others.
- Atlanta Braves – Them Braves are from Atlanta, Georgia. Been playin’ since 1876, so they got some real history behind ‘em.
- Baltimore Orioles – Baltimore, Maryland. They’re one of the older teams, started in 1901.
- Boston Red Sox – From Boston, Massachusetts, of course. Them Red Sox are one of the big names in the game, been around since 1901 too.
- Chicago Cubs – Chicago, Illinois. These folks have been playing ball since 1876, real old-timers in the game.
- Chicago White Sox – Another Chicago team, and they’ve been around since 1901, just like the Orioles and Red Sox.
- Cincinnati Reds – From Cincinnati, Ohio. They started in 1882, so they got plenty of years under their belts.
- Cleveland Guardians – Cleveland, Ohio. They’ve been around since 1901, too.
- Colorado Rockies – Now, these ones are from Denver, Colorado. They’ve been in the game since 1993.
- Detroit Tigers – From Detroit, Michigan. Started in 1901, same as a few of them others.
- Houston Astros – Houston, Texas. Been playin’ since 1962, so they’re fairly young but made a name for themselves.
- Kansas City Royals – From Kansas City, Missouri. They’ve been around since 1969.
- Los Angeles Angels – Well, from Los Angeles, California, of course. They started in 1961.
- Los Angeles Dodgers – These Dodgers are from LA too, but they’ve been playin’ since 1884.
- Miami Marlins – Miami, Florida. They’ve only been around since 1993.
- Milwaukee Brewers – From Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They started in 1969, so they’re a bit newer.
- Minnesota Twins – Minneapolis, Minnesota, started in 1901.
- New York Mets – Now, these Mets are from New York City, playin’ since 1962.
- New York Yankees – One of the biggest names in baseball, these Yankees are from New York City too. They’ve been around since 1901.
- Oakland Athletics – From Oakland, California, started in 1901.
- Philadelphia Phillies – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, started way back in 1883.
- Pittsburgh Pirates – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Been around since 1882.
- San Diego Padres – These Padres are from San Diego, California. They’ve been around since 1969.
- San Francisco Giants – From San Francisco, California. Been playin’ since 1883.
- Seattle Mariners – Seattle, Washington. Been around since 1977.
- St. Louis Cardinals – St. Louis, Missouri. They’ve been playin’ since 1882.
- Tampa Bay Rays – From Tampa Bay, Florida. They’re a newer team, only started in 1998.
- Texas Rangers – Texas, y’all. They’ve been around since 1961.
- Toronto Blue Jays – These Blue Jays are from Toronto, Canada. They’ve been playin’ since 1977.
- Washington Nationals – And finally, the Nationals from Washington, D.C. Started in 1969 as the Montreal Expos, but moved to D.C. in 2005.
Now, as you can see, there’s 30 teams, and they’re spread out all over the place. Some of ‘em have been around for a long time, some not so much. But they all play hard, and they all got their fans. From the Yankees to the Cubs, and them Braves down south, every team’s got its own bit of history. Whether you’re from a big city or a small one, baseball brings people together.
